    Tucson -

MT LEMMON. The road to the summit makes this city worth visiting. Oh. OHHHHH. what a fantastic road!

So many low speed banked turns going up and down the mountain. Not to mention the appalling views. It's what you imagine when you hear "canyon carving"

    Man that was a ball.

Staying in the desert (again) was another move to get out of my comfort zone. But I was rewarded with a clear view of our galaxy's stars.

Arizona is amazing. Wish I could see the Grand Canyon though.

    California tomorrow!

Fortunately yes! Rearset worked as an auxiliary frame slider, so did the saddlebags. But the tail fairing took the punishment. No big deal though, battle scars to talk about

Glad the road to Mt Lemmon was in good shape. It is fantastic with jaw dropping views this time of year. Travel safe!

    Cali freaking fornia.

Can't believe I did it. Coast to coast. Upon arrival, it felt like I was done. But a quick run through the San bernadino forest reminded me there's lots to explore.

After spending the night with some friends, I realize having meaningful relationships with those you meet in your travels has a dynamic that the monotonous, yet beautiful, mountain views do not have.

Maybe I feel that way since I spent another 500 miles in the saddle and had to deal with inner city traffic. But good company should always be cherished.

    CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!
I was a little scared for you when I saw you headed into the mountains in NM this time of year, but you made it!
    Kelsey says congrats as well.

I couldn't agree with you more and that's an absolutely beautiful way of phrasing a thought that's been floating around my head.

I remember how pretty things were when I open my Camera Roll, but when asked about the trips I've taken, It's the people I talk about.

Soooo I was thinking about going up to Washington State, but turns out there is a two-day trackday at laguna seca...for $250...

Trackday at an amazing circuit or riding up north through cold, rainy weather again...

Edit - I'm registered. Soooo hopefully we'll finally be getting some knee down action this trip.

LA county has been a ball for the week I have been here. California is definitely a state where you can ride year round unlike the Mid-Atlantic.

The traffic is atrocious but the folks are cordial. Perhaps more so than those out east.

I realize that becoming too comfortable with your environment can actually hold you back from continuing on. Weather here is great and so is the lifestyle. But a quick run through the Angeles forest and a 2.5 conversation with Chepe', owner of a cressida owner, reminded me that I'd be a fool to end my trip here and not explore what's north - in landscape and personalities. I mean seriously, I rode to this amazing scenic point and talked about life with him and we didn't know each others name for the first hour LOL. That's what I'll remember about the Angeles forest.

Replaced the rear aluminum sprocket and am waiting on tires. Then hopefully on saturday we'll be heading north.

Continuing north tomorrow. Highlight of today...had my tires changed by the great ari henning! It was a long shot but he replied to my inquiry about my california route and offered tire changing services - to which I took up on.

When LA county failed me, Ari Henning came to the rescue haha. Very wholesome dude on screen and in person. Subscribed to his show throttle out on motor trend as an end result.

    Wet.

Chillin with dave tonight. Going to scope out new riding gloves and a proper rain suit tomorrow at cyclegear because geez I was effing miserable today even if the roads were good.

Washington and Oregon I will have to give some thought - unless I get proper gear.

    Screw the rain. Seriously.

    Love hot showers though :) 20190203_144729.jpg 20190204_145225.jpg 20190204_122811.jpg 20190204_122528.jpg

Are these taken with the GoPro cam with the big lens I noticed earlier in your posts? Does the big lens make that much difference in the light gathering of your pics? I recently bought a Hero7 and have seen a website that converts the frame to the bigger lens and inquiring minds want to know.
I'm enjoying the ride report but definitely look at the weather forecasts before you make your way North. I'd be really tempted to just stay in Ca and make it to Or & Wa on another trip out West some other day.
