Staying ahead of an incoming front...

I looked up the National Weather Radar and saw this beast coming last night...

You'll never make it. Run Forest Run ~ North is your only hope.

Go back up to HY20, ride east back to Spokane then down to Lewiston. Re-ride the Lewiston grade (you know you want to), and take 129 from Asotin WA thru Anatone, continue to Oregon (on HY3) to Joseph. Turn east and ride through endless twisty Snake River Canyon nothingness all the way into Boise.
Then stop and buy a house there. You will have ridden the golden road to heaven now and will never want to leave. :rofl

I’m just a little passed Boise back at Mountain Home camping again... It was crazy with the fog, rain, and wind in some spots... I took US-395 down to Kennewick and US-30 east...

I wanted to get photos of the grasslands on my way out... nothing but green all the way to the horizon...

We need to get to SLC this morning and it wont be pretty. Heavy wind...oh boy. We are both sunburned from travel from Moab down to Mexican hat. Be safe and we’ll catch up sometime.

I just caught up with your trip as I was out on a trip myself the last few days. Great pics and the video was great too. I'm glad you are enjoying yourself and I'm hoping the weather doesn't mess up your trip too much.

Looking forward to the rest of your trip.

    ~ 15 May 2019 (Day 9)

I woke up early to hit the road because Mountain Home, ID was my destination via US-395 down to Kennewick, WA... I wanted to get photos of the grasslands along the 395 on my way out...
    1.jpg

this is how my day started leaving Clear Lake at 6am... "great" I say to myself...
    2.jpg

luckily once I got out of Spokane proper... the vail of fog slowly lifted but at the same time revealed the incoming storm front that was on it's slow march north and it was wiiiiiide... this would be the last time I would see a sunny day... you can also see the grasslands on both side of the US-395...
    3.jpg

It was nice to see a tribute to 9/11 all the way out here in the PNW... I saw the sign along the road so I though I would pay my respect...

E2AA5C69-78B4-498A-B0BE-80692AB33B42.jpeg I’ve been following this and planned on Convict Lake today. Got close but decided to skip it, snowing pretty good there this afternoon.

all along the 395 you see large swaths of land dedicated to growing grass and vegetables... some get watered by these sprinklers that moves in a big circle...
    5.jpg

I decided to go down one of the country roads and take a closer...
    6.jpg

    7.jpg

I rode further down the road over the hill and it revealed more grasslands... the work it must take is simply astonishing...

As I was climbing the hill just passed Pendleton, it was at this point that I said to myself... "The Motorcycles Gods were not letting me off so easy" they thought I was having way toooo much fun and needed to bring me back down to earth so he got with his friend Mother Nature to put damper on my ride south...
    9.jpg

however, I still stopped at every little nugget I could find along the way like this Historic Arch Bridge...
    10.jpg

    11.jpg

and get some motorcycle therapy even in the rain...

I liked going through the small towns along US-30... they have their own history, nostalgia, and personality...
    13.jpg

take for instance this dude who waved at me as I passed by so I waved backed even though we've never met...
    14.jpg

    15.jpg

all-in-all it wasn't too bad... I hit some fog, rain, and wind but nothing too challenging... I arrived at the campsite in Mountain Home, ID by 5pm...

it was still windy when I was setting up camp so instead of using the sand pads, I opted to set up under the awning to stay dry in case of overnight rain so I tied the tent down using the picnic table and the support beams...

    ~ 16 May 2019 (Day 10)

Not so good day for some motography...

I wanted to get down to Tonopah today... but it would end up being a tough run against Mother Nature...
    1.jpg

leaving right out the gate, this is how the entire day would look from the saddle...
    2.jpg

    and this...
    3.jpg

if I can find a nugget along the route, I'll make sure to "motographize" it...

I like that last shot Rudy. Flat light is tough, but you made it interesting by how you composed the shot.

It was a tough day for motography... I saw the location as I was riding by and as usual flip a U'ey...
