Camping at Hartman Rocks?? Awesome MTB trails too if you want that leg burn.
I can see the van!
And it all went to hail!
I spy a generator.
Great Travel Report and Pictures... thank you for sharing!
We camped in that exact spot
I know you like to search and discover. These weathered panholes are in top of the large boulder wth the overhang, behind the tree on the right
Love that little genny for times when the camp stove is a no go. Like in the weather or when I need to speed boil a pot of water for a hot shower!
Yea Stack, sweetest of spots!
And a little mid week vid action. I move to BV, rip in Four Mile, more camping stoke and I visit the top of Cottonwood Pass!
Buena Vista Colorado Four Mile OHV and Cottonwood Pass Camping
I was just sittin' here thinking it was about time for this year's tour, I click over to see the haps in Flatistan and boom, there it is. Looks like another epic year. Motivation to get my van finished, get my life in order and get on the road!
What up, Bob?
Yeah, makes me want a van too!
You are Killing me ! Been too long since I’ve been out there. I travel much the same way but with only the bike / no van ! I remember how cold Woodland park was when I got there Via Rampart from Castle Rock. Had to get a room at the Eagles nest lodge there to warm up... brrrr. Can’t wait to get a proper van. You are doing it right my friend !
The old Xr600r at FourMile area ... you know it.
Hey PK! Same old, working for the man, ridin' when I can (hmmm, sounds like a song in there somewhere). I hesitated for years on the van purchase, finally took the plunge with a 16 Transit. It's awesome, should have done it sooner. Now I just have to finish it and I can be like Fu!
Hope things are well with you and all the Fleas.
Fucking lucky! This sign gave me a rock hard throbbing boner!
Cause it was opening day for the skinny stuff at the Tenderfoot Motorcycle Trail System.
Fun stuff high above Dillon CO!
And if ya see that stupid little shitter tent ya know Mrs. Manfu had joined The Tour!
Got down to 34’ last night. 2 feet of snow fell up high. Look at all that fresh white stuff up on Pikes!
Here’s a fun one, amazing camping, single track stoke, and we survived the mother of all hail storms!
Hartman Rocks The Colorado Dirt Bike and Brew Tour
While you’re in the area, check out Alpine Tunnel. It is not a loop but pretty cool as you ride on an old railroad bed that leads to the first rail tunnel crossing the continental divide. Tunnel is closed but there is some interesting railroad stuff at the top. Did the ride a few times including one ride on my MTB...
Riding over the palisades? Pretty sure thats been closed since the 2015/2016 winter from an avalanche...
No way!!! Haven’t been there in quite a few years so I have no idea about the current situation...That is a bummer if closed or worse...
Two more hikes for your consideration, this year or next.
Uncompahgre Peak (14,321ft)... The trail head is at the top of a nice little ride up from 20, west out of Lake City.
And Mt. Sneffels (14,150) above Camp Bird mine between Ouray and Telluride along the Imogene Pass trail.
Both can be done on a nice day from the bike.
Pretty sure it was still closed last year, haven't checked this year. From the last CADS wagon train.
Hell of a few days. Paid for our first site of The Tour. $18.00 for waterfront property in Pitkins!
Slid over to CB and Washington Gulch. Both with no connectivity. I’ve been real spoiled with cell at camp till theses 2 visits.
Currently riding in Mars at Peach Valley OHV in Montrose.
Shit is so sketch, those climbs, not knowing what’s at the top, and the ridge running all combine to make it a real code brown ride!
Ok any issues with the pix? Only letting me do 4 a post
Like most Youtubers I’m pimping out my lady with this one!
How to shower in a Sprinter van
More code brown pix from riding Mars!
Who knows what’s at the top?
I honestly don’t enjoy it at all but kept climbing em?
And I haven’t even gone through the good stuff with the monster climbs! 3rd pinned and never lift till ya crest! Did I say it’s real uncomfortable riding?
Way way too hot yesterday (our first 80+ degree day) and plan on heading back to the cool mountain air after lunch. Now I remember why I’ve never ridden here.
