Poudre Canyon. the cement bridge is in the upper part I think. Been a long time and I am most likely incorrect.

Nope. Nothing like that in the Poudre. Similar but different structures in the Big Thompson. I'm going with Glenwood.

Yep Geology is wrong for Poudre, and Big Thompson. That is the nice Limestone of Glenwood Canyon

You guys...…………...For shame. wishing for more snow...……….:jack The powder is so dry, there isn't much base. Sinking in and damaged sleds have been the rule last week in Grand Lake. Lots of rocks showing after the sleds go through.

To say nothing of a viaduct that thankfully doesn't exist up Poudre. I can't stand the thought of a four-lane highway through there.

I think I only rode Berthoud one day in the early 90s when I was in high school. Fun mountain, and I liked having the shuttle for the runs below the area. Windy and cold also seem to be etched in my memory.
I love the little areas. Had an awesome low angle powder day at Ski Cooper last year. My 11 yr old and I piled in our suburban, chased a storm, car camped in Buena Vista at the river launch and got a solid powder day, then another day at Monarch on our way home.

Grew up 15 miles from Steamboat, never put on a pair of skis till College at Western. went to Cranor Hill outside of Gunnison. 2 runs later, my mcl ripped in half!
Said enough of this I will stick to football, Dirt bikes, and other safe stuff!

Blew my knee out in fifth grade just down the road from the pass. I get that story.

That is one of those little areas that most people don't know exists. I think it is still operating. Kind of like Hesperus, but less visible.

When they started wanting more than I made in a day for a half day lift ticket, I quit skiing. There is just more fun to be had for my dollars. When the kids came along, it was totally out of reach, financially. I got on my Son's board at the park down the street. I think I would enjoy that more. But a sled, now that's in my future. One with a throttle and a long track, burning fossil fuels.
