My comments about gear were only to answer a question previously asked. My apologies if it was a disruption. I too am glad to see him riding. How he rides or what he wears is not within my power to choose, therefore not something I would comment on. Unless he rides naked, in which case I’m not doing the cannonball with him.

I almost look like a cannonball, do I get a break on the riding rules?

I won't be riding with a naked Conchscooter either.
You are good with me, Gregg.

After I finished riding the electric chair down the steps I rode to Key West worked out for 90 minutes and rode home. I wear a mesh jacket.

Hey, cms! See you're in southern Ohio. Iron Pony is close enough you can try on lots of stuff to see what feels good.

Thank you all for the responses. I was leaning toward the mesh ones to begin with. I'm going to try them all on regardless of brand for the fit (good point). Most have been to bulky before which lead to not buying them at all. cms

As far as I'm concerned, elastane in jeans is God's gift to humanity. If it ain't stretchy, I'm not wearing it. And if Conch wants to ride the Iron Butt naked, OK with me. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and naked is just another way to be. Ho hum. We all have bodies and I'm used to mine.

Lightest jacket I owned isn’t made anymore but was a Kevlar cool mesh from an Israeli company that makes gear for their police motorcycle rides. Weights less than many non bike jackets and air flows very well except where the armor is which is ventilated as well but because of the nature of armor only so much air flow is possible.

Yabut, it's a good kinda ache. :-) In anticipation of upcoming hip surgery, I am doing a water exercise class in the pool to strengthen up prior to the surgery. The old gal that is teaching the class is kicking my ass.

Sounds like you're off to the races. If your next IB ride takes you through SE Ohio the guest master suite is yours, and we have some of the best British style Pale Ale you'll ever have brewed in our on-site brewery!

How about that, been through there many times!

Today I’m riding somewhat in that direction to the crash site(s) of the USS Shenandoah. I don’t know that there is anything really to see, but I’ve always wanted to check it out. This will bring the new Xmax to its first service.
