It wasn't 'til your post that I figured-out what was going-on there.
I fuckin' love that, especially following as it does that faux-patinated poseur above it.
Like the wallet riding on it.
Well it looks like they are targeting the "foreign service contractor" market, so there is that.
Anyone who will buy it. They aren't selling militarized equipment. They are selling suspension systems. It's a B2B venture targeted at the likes of Jenkel who custom build vehicles to customers' specifications. This F550 kit with AWD has a lot of applications. The F550 is a great platform for everything from ambulances to comms packages to light APC's.
Then there was this gem.
And some engine awesomeness from Cummins.
All that camper on a half ton, with probably a 350 with 225 hp under the hood. Nowadays, it takes a 2500HD/Superduty/2500 with a 400+ hp & 900 ftlb of torque turbo diesel to haul the same load....
I could haul that load up the Blue Ridge with a Massey Ferguson 35 too, but a 350 would make it better. It may not take 400hp and 900ft/lb of torque, but it damn sure makes it easier and safer.
Trust me, I like old trucks. But technology isn't a bad thing when dealing with heavy payload and towing.
maaaaaaaaaaaan. I never shoulda sold my '53.

Finally, they've done away with those silly tires.
