That black & red paint scheme you could get on a 2nd Gen was one of the best looking ever offered, IMHO. There was a guy near where I lived in WY who had a pristine example that he saw fit to stick stainless shiny panels to the lower half of the doors, seemingly just to fuck up perfection.
Dammit JJ! IT brings me a new computer and keyboard yesterday and now the keys are all sticky!

I did notice the badge, and was around enough of these trucks to know that the 429 was a pretty popular transplant.
I almost put something in the post about the popularity of that color combo, especially when those trucks were released in '94. I'd venture a guess that, from '94-'96, one in ten was ordered in that combo.
I figured you might appreciate some of the specimens in that line-up.
