I have posted this photo before, but not in this context. Let's see your favorite photo of your dad, your mom, or both on a cycle, and how it inspired you to get on bikes and ride:

This pic of my dad and mom, on tour in Germany in 1952 on his then new Jawa 350. I like the attitude he shows in the pic, which wasn't him as i knew him. He was never a show-off or poser. But this photo says a lot. My dad, at 30 year old, mom at 25, with a look like "we survived five years of German occupation of Holland during WW2, scraping for any food we could grab, hiding during raids, loosing close friends, constant fear. Now we're riding and enjoying life!" I look at this pic and understand a big part of why I ride to this day.

I came to this world five years later. In fact, my mom was riding with my dad on his cycles even in her ninth month of pregnancy with me. It was ridden into my genes to ride before my first breath in this world!

I remember my dad giving all the neighborhood kids rides on his scooter when I was a kid but there are no photos. :(:

My dad in the early-60's in England on his Matchless (or AJS?) single that I think was a late-50's model.

COOL! Where in Holland in your mom from? My dad is from Oss, my mom from Zevenaar. I was born in Sittard very close to Masstricht. I like both pics of your mom.

My mom will be 93 this coming January. I hope to get her on one of my bikes before she is no longer with us. She is just able enough yet to get on my bike with some assistance, so there is hope to give her a ride yet.

Don't wait, it's too easy to put it off then regret it.

Oh that is very true. We just moved mom to assisted living after she fell in her previous apartment. I better try to get the ride done this fall.

Another favorite pic of my dad, sometime in the early 50's (look at the ID plate on the fender) performing in a street rally event in Oss, Holland. Pretty sure that is a late 30's Triumph. He later replaced it with a 52 Jawa 350 twin. I have to recreate this picture on my R1200RT, cause I do these maneuvers regularly.

Get it done! My wife works in the retirement industry, so we went in there and did a show and tell on a cross country trip we did back in '14. Afterwards I took a handful of the braver seniors around the block on the back of the bike. It was great to help fulfill what a few claimed had been a lifelong ambition. Those guys were so excited!

I believe you're right. My dad restored a '57 AJS 16MS 350 single in the late 70's. That looks like the Matchless version.

My mom is from Rotterdam. She still lives around there. I grew up in Hoek van Holland and live now near Roermond.

Sure hope you get your mom on the bike!

I just discovered this old photo of my grandfather. I was told he rode an Indian, but this looks like a '34 or '35 Harley-Davidson to me. Can anyone identify it for certain?

My mom here. 97 at the time. She passed away 5 months after this was taken. She needed help getting on and off, but did it anyway.
Funny thing- as soon as she was on, she reached for the bars and was twisting the throttle. And making “puttputtputt” sounds with her mouth. Her brother was a speedway racer, back in the 30’s. (Before WWII.)
    Anyway, here she is!

My dad hillclimbing in Okinawa around 1970. Suzuki TS250 Savage. He took it apart and shipped it home from Okinawa in boxes labeled "Lamp Parts" Rode it all over SoCal. Raced the Barstow-Vegas desert race a few times too. Sold it when I was born in 72. Funny thing was I never knew any of this until I was in my late teens. I guess mom didn't want him infecting me with the motorcycle bug.
