    Is that an Mazda RX2 coupe? Love those rotaries. :lol3

    Context - this post was sucked out of the "Girl on an old motorcycle" thread. I guess we got too far off topic :beer

    Nope not an RX2, I owned 2 RX2's and 2 RX3's and have been a Mazda owner since 1973.

    That's a Corvair.

    @GPD323 - I used to road race a '77 RX-3sp. Miss that car a lot.

    More likely an Opel - I had a friend in engineering school with a Corvair Monza - she rebuilt it with her father. That was a beautiful car but it didn't quite look like that.

    Could be. At first glance it looked like a second gen 'vair with custom tail lights like a 1st gen.

    Definitely not a Corvair and, while it looks a lot like an Opel Manta, I don't think it's one of them. The search is on.

    Manta's taillights are relatively larger in the fear fascia than on the sample car, and the Manta has bowed sheetmetal at the ends of the fascia, not squarish like the sample car and the Manta's lights and fascia are not inset.

    Manta and Ascona were same size cars. The manta s.th. like an Ascona Coupe, Ascona was the Limo and a Caravan, the Opel name of a station waggon no coupe, no fastback, the Opel name of a station waggon.
    Kadett was a smaler car 1000 t 1200cc at athat time.
    Aboce Manta/Ascona was the Rekord. The car above, maybe a version of the Chevrolet Vega?

    Thinking Manta....the lights changed with the years....some times all red, others had the split with the turn signals on half.

    ImI thinking Opel as well, or maybe a Sunbeam Rapier? Definitely not a Corvair, I owned enough of them to spot one a mile off.

    it's a manta as they have a small badge of a manta ray down between the door and wheel arch on both sides plus a manta badge on the rear

    That's a '73-ish Opel Manta A, I guess an SR. Dood just used the same lenses on the rear lights, without the clear bit for the reverse light.

    Nah, look at the sheet metal surrounding rear end that a Manta doesn't have.
