    Nice view of the Peak.
Was up to the parking lot last weekend.
    Kind of cool yet.
Two track thru snow on the north face, so it's hit and miss getting thru with cars.

Went to the snow bank and had to turn around yesterday on FS 11, the Quartzville / Yellowbottom road out of Sweethome.
    37miles in from Hwy 20.
Watch the road, it's moving around a lot with pot holes and land shifting.
There are some rattle can warning signs, but not all hazers are flagged.
There is one particular "JUMP" that will catch you out if you are moving in a spirited pace.
A blind lefthander that straightens out with a huge Voltswagon bug size bolder the road is settling down around.
For sure, I really look for it now if the pace is quick.
Not much traffic on FS 11 now that you can not get thru to HWY22, but it is actually a good out and back ride.

Well, that was hard to do - I just sold the 1090 to a friend of mine. That was a damned fine bike. I really can't imagine ever riding a big bike I like better than that. The power, the smoothness of the engine, the kind of howling sound it makes when you really accelerate. It just became clear to me that I wasn't going to do the things I bought it for - long, multiday trips. I rode it less than 1000 miles in the past year, so it just didn't seem to make sense to hang on to it for an occasional Coast Range ride.

Guess I'd better get my ass moving on pulling the carb from the DRZ and getting that running after two years of procrastinating. Until I do that, I'm bike-less.

This makes me sad. . This damn Rona has changed everything thing for all of us. Russ, I do apologize for not reaching out to you to ride more. Shit, I've been riding less.......... Darn it!! I genuinely had a great time riding with ya man. Your knowledge of our local hills is unprecedented.

Well, I'll get the DRZ running again - though I'm sure I complicated things by leaving it sitting for two years. I'm focused on the Jeep at the moment, but I'll get to it before summer.

Need a new set of tires for the 990-Any suggestions on where to go to get them and mounted. Would prefer to support some local shop as long as the prices are reasonable Thanks

Check with Gran Prix in Albany. Grey area in Springfield is a good option too.

I really like Gary and have been eying a SWM he has, but I found them to be rather expensive on tires. I may need to go visit him again as I need more gear

There was a shop that I visited a few years back that didn’t sell bikes but only dealt in parts and such mostly off-road husky,KTM a and such but for the life of me can’t remember there name...as I remember just off I 5 on the east side of the freeway. Maybe it was Premier.....

That was Cycle Buy, was a KTM/Husky dealer. They closed the franchise and went back to on-line only sales.

Bummer, a few years back when I got my KTM 300, they have a lot of cool stuff on the shelf. Still a good site, and local resource to buy online stuff. They always shipped fast in the past, back when I was buying stuff.

You might ask Gary for a price on tire mounting / balance only and buy your tire on line.
I am sure it will not be the first time he has heard that question.
