That looks like a real "doozy" to me.
What is up with that welded handlebar???
Hoping bike is just strapped like that to be able to work on something and not for transport.
I didn't see that when I looked on my phone. Upon closer inspection the top clamps don't fit correctly either. That poor thing has had some major boogeridge.

Well I guess since it’s a Cult Bike and all, it’s worth an extra $500. To a Cultist, maybe
$2k? Wow, did ugly purple come back in style?
Not KLRista pricing, but that's a lot of bike for the money.
Beemer 2. I don't know what toaster tanks are worth anymore, all I do know is many years ago the prices were ridiculous when I wanted one.
I really do miss my Tiger XC.
Jeez, 3300 sounds really reasonable for that given how nice it looks!
I don't know if I am glad or sad that I don't have the garage space to even consider this.
Consider yourself happy.
Looks like a 950 oil change

Dealing with 4 carbs would be a potential PITA.
What caused the need to tear the engine apart though?
The neighbor's son in law left it sit without gas treatment in the tank for a year with fuel line open. Carbs were the worst I had seen and these particular ones get plugged in places you can't get to with removing the pressed in jets etc... You know the old phone call..."Hey can you rebuild the carbs on my bike trick"? Then I say ok as I have done this type before so I was familiar with what I was getting into. So I get the carbs off and he says, "can you replace the rings"? I ask why and he says it smoked a little. I said it is most likely valve stem seals. So seeing I had to pull the head anyway, go ahead and put rings in it. It sure would have been a lot easier to leave the cylinder in place but I did what he wanted. I do know that you can replace valve stem seals with air pressure in the spark plug hole etc but with 4 valves per cylinder and his concerns I wanted to lap the valves and check for burnt ones etc. I did do a compression test before I started and it was within spec although on the low end... But in the end it was properly tuned.
This looks fun.
I would have done a little more of a weather resistant interior though.
