79 R100RS - $4200
just such a weird bitsa bike... would be worth more parted out than as it sits.
Heck had the thought about it for the toaster tank.. then read it's been cut and welded...
This motorcycle is pretty much an assembly of various different parts, mostly from different BMW motorcycles. It does run and ride, which is most useful for verifying whether or not the parts fitted to the bike work. At best I would consider this bike an unfinished project.
If you are looking for a motorcycle that is complete and ready to go, this is not the bike for you.
If you are looking for a parts bike, or to part out the bike, keep reading.
The engine is from and R75/6.
- The engine runs but burns oil. Smoke is most visible at startup after long storage and hard engine braking. I suspect worn valve guides.
The transmission is a five speed.
Frame is from a 1976 R100S and it is registered as such.
- It has a clean title and current registration.
- The frame is bent from a crash once upon a time. A second frame is included but does not have its own title. I intended to swap frames and never did.
The front end (forks, triple clamps, controls) are from a 1995 Suzuki Katana.
- It would be tough to explain why I thought this was a good idea so I wont.
- The Suzuki controls do work for the most part.
Give the man an "A" for honesty. Refreshing.

This poped up while I was looking today.
This looks pretty nice to me. And it is local.
If anyone has an RS or an airhead with the “S” fairing, here’s a reasonably priced 3/4 seat from the MOA classifieds:
(These are getting uncommon enough that lots of folks ask stupid prices for them.)
Holy hell, I have one for sale and I'm asking half that! Really cool seat though, I was told they were a hard find anymore.
A 3/4 seat AND the cowl?
Damn, too bad I’ve already got what I need.
It's definitely not in as nice of shape (I think?) as that MOA listing one, but it's a good base.
If this was closer I would jump on it. Have a /6 that needs a left cylinder.
1974 R75/6 $900
About an hour south of me.
No affiliation whatsoever. No idea if its a scam or not.
Listed in three different nearby cities, but shows the same map location.
^ Already flagged for removal...
Figured - but you never know.
The location prolly would not be high dollar or antique bmw aficionados.
Such is the CL hunt . . .
Would have been willing to go look at it for a fellow adv'er
Bit of an optimist as far as getting it running, I suspect:
Love the seat and low bars on this one:
Bring your check book.
So it's worth $15,000, but it's not worth taking two pictures? This Chinese knock-off has three.
If both of those came with for $2500 I'd be there tonight.
Yea, wondering... first three pics are a green bike, last one is a black R50 or 60.....
No clue not my add
