just such a weird bitsa bike... would be worth more parted out than as it sits. Heck had the thought about it for the toaster tank.. then read it's been cut and welded... https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/mcy/d/carlsbad-1976-bmw-airhead/6912613285.html $800 OBO This motorcycle is pretty much an assembly of various different parts, mostly from different BMW motorcycles. It does run and ride, which is most useful for verifying whether or not the parts fitted to the bike work. At best I would consider this bike an unfinished project. If you are looking for a motorcycle that is complete and ready to go, this is not the bike for you. If you are looking for a parts bike, or to part out the bike, keep reading. The engine is from and R75/6. - The engine runs but burns oil. Smoke is most visible at startup after long storage and hard engine braking. I suspect worn valve guides. The transmission is a five speed. Frame is from a 1976 R100S and it is registered as such. - It has a clean title and current registration. - The frame is bent from a crash once upon a time. A second frame is included but does not have its own title. I intended to swap frames and never did. The front end (forks, triple clamps, controls) are from a 1995 Suzuki Katana. - It would be tough to explain why I thought this was a good idea so I wont. - The Suzuki controls do work for the most part.
