Probably not the most desirable but that is one of the most rare models. If it was a Uly it probably be sold already.

That was exactly my reaction...it got away from him so he put it away after telling everyone "it ain't for a novice." What he really means is it scared the shit out of him once and he bought a quad.

What do the rest of you guys think? Is that 21 year old XR600R really worth $6400? It's going to need a serious going through (rubber lines, tires, fluids, seals, gaskets, fuel tank) with so much sitting around.

    I don't see it.

That price seems high but I've been shopping the 600/650 range DS. The prices aren't really relative to their age. The 21 yr old XR is going for the same prices as the 5 or 6 yr old ones. I'd say the range is $4500-6K. This one hasn't really been used so this guy is trying to ask a premium for that...

I hate, I mean HATE that dealer and their CL posts. The bike is in Las Vegas. You MUST use their inflated shipping (which I'm guessing is a premium on top of whatever they find on uship). I wonder if the "From $189" is the delivery fee to their own parking lot. Their "paperwork fees' can approach $1,000. They post in every CL market often with phone numbers to try to make it look local (like this one), and they use enough keywords to come up in nearly every search in motorcycle categories. Here's the link where you can see it with a little less obfuscation: http://feclv.post2cl.com/details.php?vehicleid=2248938.

I've been looking for years for a nice VF1000R. They had one a while back. Their asking price seemed reasonable, so I jumped through their hoops. When it was done, my cost would have been $7,400 and change. And the smugness... "Not interested? There's another sucker behind you. Have you looked at our financing? We'll get you this bike, only 13% apr..."

Plus those valuable motorcycle terms like SUV and 4WD. Pretty crummy stuff.

Value is in the eye of the buyer but there’s no way I would give that and I’d agree it would need attention from sitting. I paid $1400 for the ‘97 I had before my TE and I think I sold it up here for around $2500 after I plated it and did a few other things it needed. It ran great and was in pretty good shape cosmetically.

They’re fun bikes and I really liked mine but if I’m being honest my TE is better in every way. They’re not really worth comparing. I have less in my TE than what he’s asking and I’ve done just about everything I can to it.

I think the point is that it has to be "from" a PNW ad location...

and when did San Leandro enter the PacNW? ;-)
