I wouldn't say any of the VTXs are fast. Now, torquey... that I'd agree to. Had an 1800 back in the day myself.

I used to be pretty chill about the titles, I'd leave the date blank. But the last two vehicles that were cheap that I sold came back to bite me on the rear,,
I used to always have 1 base commuter battle wagon ,, sub 2000 dollar car.. So if it got borked by some idiot I didn't even care..

Sold a older Nissan truck fo r750 bucks, buyer flipped it, the next buyer used it to deliver stuff, didn't title it either, racked up almost 5000 in parking tickets, I got a bench warrant in the mail from the City.
Same thing happened with a beater Toyota Corolla I owned..

Now ,, its NO plate,, I sign and date the title, I take a pic of the buyers license and I do BOTH online sale notice and the paper notice at the counter in the DMV and insist on a receipt. I also KEEP the registration, that way they can't claim they "borrowed" the vehicle.

When I sell I just put, car will need immediate plate, I am keeping the Vanity plate off it.

@pdxmotorhead sucks that people suck sometimes huh? A friend did the same thing & then the guy that bought the car from him ran from the cops in it, crashed it, ditched the car, & ran off. The next morning the cops came knocking at my friends door since the car was still in his name trying to bring him in . Luckily, he had all of the bill of sale paperwork & such including the guys address.

I’ve got a few stories involving bikes that new owners failed to transfer ownership on or sellers that never filed a seller’s report.

Just last June I bought this 1982 Katana project bike from a guy in Missoula MT. He bought it in 1996. He sold it to a guy local to him in 1999.

21 years later in 2020 the Montana DMV called him to say “his” bike had been abandoned in a ditch and subsequently impounded. He was directed to collect his vehicle and pay $250 in fees or be subject to further action.

Rather than trying to explain the situation he went and got the bike and applied for a new title. The state of Montana was none the wiser.

Reunited and it feels so good!

    $4,000min. + offers over starting $
No rush to part with this gem.

Not sure if this guy is on here or not but I'm totally twitchy on this ad. Bike appears well and seemingly well-priced for current market. What's with all the pictures of all the different bikes. The third pic, I thought 'oh, a hipster shot with his GF' until I noticed the "600" on the side cover and realized that was Elspeth Beard on her R60. What does that have to do with his 82 R100. Then all the "inspirations" for modding out the bike...blasphemy after stating it's 99.1% original.

Then there's the asking price. "$4,000min. + offers over starting $" Is this a CL auction...didn't know that was an option. The funny thing is I have a friend in the market for a bike. He's an old Triumph guy (both his age and his bikes) but I've been prodding him towards the old airheads so he doesn't leave as big of oil trail. This would be a nice option for him but the tone of the ad has my spidey senses tingling.

Twitchy is right. I'm in the market for a nice AH but not thinking this is the one to get me to drive over the mountains for.

So, your saying that the savvy used Goldwing buyer might pass this up, just because of a small labeling error.

Those of you who are visual and click adverse.

Look only needs a mirror. AND as pointed out a few hundred parts to make it a “Goldwing”. It probably needs parts to make it an ST1100.
