Yes, now that is Craptastic trail -- nice composition, too. Is that air under the back wheel?
I tried some new (to me) trails in Wastach last fall. They were really crappy.
Was there even a trail!!!! :eek1
The line you pick is the trail! Its called Tom's Diner.
do you get that Suzanne Vega song in your head when you ride it?
doot doot doo doo doot doot doo doo
No but it's stuck in there now. Thanks.
I'm a giver!
I used to play around Pole Hill a lot. It's been years, but we would Mtn bike around there a lot. I remember a cookout area with a view toward Lyons. I think they used to do 6x6 tours up there. Also gave vague memory of the connection to Rattlesnake (Pinewood) Reservoir. Sure would be sweet if that was legal!
A very crappy trail, why don't they tell you it's not for bigger bikes. Skip to the end if you just want to watch me toss the bike

Nice! What trail is that?
Mt Rosa down here by Colorado Springs. It's a blast, it's a real adventure when you go up the back side.....just very steep, but then you have it easy coming down this rocky section.
"Crappy" beginning to a trailhead....up and over we go...
....with "crappy" swicthbacks. One after the other of this....
...to a less "crappy" view of this
"crappy" trails have a bad rep
I rode some crap singletrack in Albany. It was so crappy that I didn't stop to take any crappy pictures (which is pretty crappy of me).
Ride report: Damp and deep in spots. So crappy I only rode that crap twice.
Albany is extremely crappy.. then just when you think it can't get any more crappy, loop two starts. Hope you're okay.
Okay as I ever am, which depending on who you ask...
FWIW, I didn't ride the whole system twice, just one section twice. Weaksauce, I know.
I made the same mistake with my loaded KLR. I made it up that initial climb and turned right back around. Definitely more of a scramble than I liked with my TKC 70's. XD Glad to hear it gets better after the entrance! I second Switzerland being very easy. I used to love taking my outback along there.
Pole Hill isn't crappy, the only crappy part is there's no legal way to connect down to Carter Lake or Drake. I definitely agree that the first couple hundred yards could be a challenge on a big bike like a 12GS but on a Thumper it's quite fun. Once you get to the top of that first hill you can pretty much rip around on the rest of the trails.
Here's a good vista from that crappy trail:
Thanks Rogue. I'll probably air down a little more and give it another shot!
yeap and lets put a big metal lunchbox on back of our pig, and stuff it with our stuff, before heading out to climb singletrack. That's gonna work out well, maybe not well. The secret for fun on CO trails is light weight and low gears. Favorite line of an old timer I know.
A buddy and I did Pole Hill many, many years ago on our dirt bikes. Made it up the rocky section only to find some folks up there camping out of the back of a Ford Escort wagon.
