We left last Monday, but better late than never, right?
I'll be posting in bits as we go and hopefully this will be caught up soon...

    Meet Dan and myself (Jessie):

We're both 23 and both graduated with physics degrees last May. We've wanted to take our bikes on a big trip for a long time and since I'm starting graduate school at Cornell next fall, this summer is our best chance. We've each been riding for about a year.

Our preparation consisted of begging ADVers for help and advice. Neither of us are mechanics so we brought our bikes in for full services before leaving. We also put new tires on.

I'm riding an '05 Ninja 250 and Dan is riding a '95 Suzuki GS500. :evil Here they are nice and clean before leaving.

We were in such a rush to take off and meet my family for a visit in Berkeley that we didn't get any pics of our bikes loaded up or us leaving.

I don't have time for more right now, but here's a little preview from the last few days, and hopefully I'll get the story caught up to the present and then we can keep an ongoing report here.

When I got out of college I took a long trip too, with my girl friend/future wife/now ex-wife. But, I wasn't into motorcycles then so we did 2 months around Europe with Euro-Rail passes. A trip like this is something that you will remember and talk about the rest of your life. Plus I owned both a Ninja 250 and a Suzuki GS500, so I'm really looking forward to your report.

Cool. I'm glad to see you guys decided to do it. I was one of those egging you on in your earlier thread. I rode Alaska last year. You should have a great time, and I'll definitely be following along.

Magnificent, just a capital Idea! Have a Great adventure. Bring your swimsuit for laird hot springs. stop at the knotty shop on the richardson for Ice Cream 30 miles before Fairbanks. Campfire in the yukon has a great waterfalls. Read the mile post book for the interesting suff along the way. ride safe. and don't press too hard. avoid the cassiar in the rain very slimmy. unless they have torn a section up for repair it is pavement all the way on the alcan. remenber to invoke a higher sourse for protection in meditation or prayer. oh, you may need an extra leter of Gas for one stretch for each bike. ride on ride on!!

As a young adventurer myself, you guys will have the time of your lives. Remember that when things get rough between you two that it's only temporary.

My adventure buddy Kelsey and I have had our differences on the bike, and you really have to try hard to overcome them. But it all works out in the end.

Have a great time, I'm excited to read more.
