Weren't you on a Ural previously?
wow, you got that far! the AT delivers.
2nd is not bad!
feeling happy for you, keep us posted!
I'm in about 12k miles on this trip so far. Some how still have the same rear tire I started with... 2nd front tire tho. And 3rd oil change lol.
And thanks sir I appreciate it. I will try to post some updates in here every couple of days. Looks like I'll be in Maine on Sunday or Monday.
Yeah, 41 hp makes you aware that life could be better. Rest of the story HERE.
yeah, I enjoyed following your original thread and all those dirt highways you rode on the Ural. I love that type of riding. I'll get tuned in to your current running trip thread.
Went for a ride in the Texas hill country this weekend. Fall is almost here...
On my way to Moab Utah to get away from the smoke in the Portland area. We were going to do the WABDR but due to the fires we're taking a detour. Just arrived in Moab after riding in smoke for 2 days. Ready for some dirt tomorrow.
Not much of an action shot, but I've been making it a point to ride my AT to work more often. Love seeing this waiting on me after a long day at work. 52 MPG sure beats 18 MPG in the truck.
Is that the Givi short screen?
That is not. This is.
What screen is that?
Just a stock screen cut down and painted flat black.
really enjoy your vid. your commentaries are great and the only way i'm able to enjoy the TX county roads.
Thank you for the fine compliment, Joel.
My son and daughter-in-law recently moved to Long Beach. If they end up staying there long term, then one day I'm going to buy a bike and leave it stored at his place in Long Beach. That way I'll have something to ride while I'm out there visiting. And if that happens, perhaps you can show me the great roads in your part of the world.
Since I said i would put my updates in here.
I have bein. Having issues starting the bike in the morning when It has bein cold , for about a week now. The bike starts fine ounce it is warmed up. Typically I would just use my jump box to start and every thing else would be fine for the rest of the day. Well today now even the jump box would not get it going. So had to get a new battery... ounce swapped in the new battery it fired right up. Don't really know whats going on with that is it the battery or something else?
Second issue is I need a new chain. Chain is past the ok limit. Well turns out getting a chain in Vermont is a fucking pain in the ass. So i am now currently waiting on a chain to be shipped out to a motorcycle shop so I can get that installed. Typically I would do it my self but I do not have a chain tool on me since mine was stolen from me in South Dakota and didn't think to replace it when I got new tools.
Third and final issue is the bike is doing that weird lag thing where it looses power or even turns off. Typiclly I just put some fuel adaptive in it and bam thats fixed. Haven't done that yet but I suspect that will fix it.
Well thats all i have for an update. If this is the wrong place please direct to to where I can post this.
Current location essex vermont.
Not sure if this was shared anywhere, but here is a video of AT in action, plus, some "cons" he found. It's in russian, but interesting anyways :)
White Rim Road in Canyon Lands Utah last week.
Didn't take too many pictures with my bike in it. This was one of my toughest days on a motorcycle. Riding the ATAS was no problem, but after after about 50 miles, other riders were struggling and dumped their bikes multiple times. Having to pick up the other bikes in the heat and at this altitude drains one's energy real quick!
