300cc seems like a cool size! Maybe 35bhp with a pipe and better intake?!

At first I was super excited about this new CRF300 Rally but I have done a lot of upgrades the 2018 Rally I bought as a left over. The most recent upgrade after the suspension is a minor intake and exhaust modification that seemed to wake the bike up a little more. I tried going to a 13 T front sprocket and while it had better acceleration - I couldn't put up with the increased vibration at highway speeds. Good riding is an hours ride South of me so most of my riding includes some 2 lane highway time. I wouldn't be first in line for a new 2021 model but if it is close enough to my current Rally that I could move some of my upgrades to the new bike......... Maybe!

This really intrigues me and would keep me from rushing into another Rally.

If Jenny X is right. If they keep the weight under 370ish I could be quite happy to be wait. I like the idea of the new Yamaha T7 but even that bike weighs more than I am comfortable taking off road. I have a friend with a new CB500X all outfitted for ADV riding but it's still just a bit heavy and too rode biased to tempt me. Not interested in spending Rally Raid figures to get it where I want it. But this with reasonable weight, 300 to 400cc and the ability to get some speed up without feeling strained or too much vibrations could entice me to sell both my F800GS (now mostly a road bike) and my 250 Rally.

Current Rally outfitted for a 1500 mile trip - and yes I packed too heavy and didn't use a third of what I took!

Just saw the Japanese press release.
    https://www.honda.co.jp/news/2020/2201113-crf250.html

Seems like they are going to release two versions of each in Japan. One with more suspension travel :)
Hoping they will do the same for the international 300cc version.
The press release also mentions more news on December 17th.

Honda thai page only lists the new crf 300, as for Japan you can only find the new crf 250 on the official page. I am not sure the 300 will be globally. Or globally yet.
Do they have euro5 emissions regulations in Thai 2021? The 300 engines Honda sells in Europe at the moment are not eu5 compliant as far as I know.

Tomorrow I will get my 250l 2020 anyway. Trailer is already attached . I am so looking forward to it as I have been thinking about this bike about two years. My dream is to do RTW on it when covid is over...

Sure looks like a 250 and not a 300. And, I have more confidence in rideapart than the other youtube video :-(

    This site is promising
    https://www.aphonda.co.th/honda2017/

So, I hope we do get the CRF300l here in the US

The CB300R is sold in Japan as the CB250R. I guess it has something to do with taxes.
As we get the CB300R in Europe, I do believe we will get the CRF300 rally instead of the 250.
Rideapart quotes japanese prices, so they obviously also saw the Japanese press release.

I thought there was a press release sometime today regarding more information about the bike. If the crf300l is going to be in thailand I would think it would be coming to USA atleast I hope so.

Looks like gearing will be different, lower 1-2-3-4, same as before 5th, bit higher 6th. Primary and final reduction staying the same as before, that would mean what, 1st gear now too low, 2nd and 3rd nicer, 4th and 5th kind of the same, 6th weaker. But that is obviously for the 250, 300 should have it more spaced apart or different final.

Something doesn't add up; there's 19% gain in torque at 7000 rpm, 22->26.2 and 36% power gain at 8500. They must have really opened it up at the top of crf250 was really chocked. Or numbers are bogus. There's 14.8 displacement gain. Is this a dual spark we've been waiting for?

With my 300 build with fmf pipe it transformed the bike. I geared the bike higher because of the added torque. I think Honda did a great job updating this bike without changing its strengths

Wonder how the new KLX300S will stack up to this ? Suspension couldn't be worse, right ?

Some pictures from Thai shops. Already doing supermoto conversions and making pipes. You can see the rear frame is welded on, not bolted like old 250 versions.
