My name is Steve i have a 2013 CRF250lL. I love the bike for offroad riding but it struggles on the highway. After going through the other CRF500L builds i desided to do the same. So here it goes.My bike. 20170723_131349.jpg

And here is the doner bike. I calculated the price of buying a used 500 engine and all the sensors wiring and whatnot getting it shiped here in Canada it came to around $2000 to $2500 after shipping and all. So i found this 2014 CB500F with 8900km on it for a bit more so i whent for it. at list i have a complete running bike and dont have to chase my tail trying to find odd parts and what ever. 20171230_192930.jpg

I’m in too, how could I not be. That’s a low mile engine you have sourced and with it being a whole bike you have without doubt kicked the build off in the correct way. Keep it rolling and loads of pics..

Pretty much just like that. Space it out, bit and turn the bars to make sure it all clears.
I took the post loose and moved it forward just a hair. Then I cut off the mounts put them back on the post in original position relative to the rest of the frame so that the body still lined up.
If you don't move the post you don' have to do that. Just spacing it out should work.
It'll fit without moving the post too, that was just OCD on my part.

Looking good Drag, yes love my couple of ride outs but haven’t got the ‘before/after’ comparison you guys will feel. Just looking at your rails there, can they be a tighter fit to engine at all or is it just the camera angle playing tricks with my eyes..??
