Really appreciated the visit from Sourkraut and his better half at the hospital today. We all love telling riding stories and this gets added to some pretty good ones that we share! You gotta love a guy that shows up to see how you are doing after running into him and punting him into a ditch. Trying to ride up a maple with the whiskey throttle was all on him though!!! He even gave me a recliner to make recovery a little easier. You (and Lisa too) da man!

We had the chance to go through all the x-rays with the trauma team - that is some messed up shit! The tally was 5 broken ribs with three with multiple breaks, broken scapula in three pieces, pneumothorax and hemothorax, partially collapsed lung and only a tiny abrasion from the suit liner on my forearm from my inside of the Darien jacket (Thank You again Aerostich!!). That’s on its way to Minnesota for some TLC.

The Happy Birthday video was awesome! - thanks to all you guys for doing that!! I really appreciated that and it’s just a guess, but it looked like most had already had a few pints at that point! Strong work!

I would especially like to thank the folks in our riding group who jumped into action to direct traffic, take care of my bike, talk me through the wait for the ambulance, and even standing in front of me to keep the sun out of my eyes while I was sitting in the road. What a great example for my son Sean to see at only his second Cromag rally after having to leave early last year after a mechanical. Next year we ride home on Sunday - I promise!!

One thing about the hospital is that you have plenty of time to order parts to get the steed back to 100%. That’s already underway. Totally looking forward to next year and see everybody again! Ride safe everyone.

Great to see you folks except Clown! You should have waited, Carmel gave me orders to slap you.:lol3

Great to get back after 5 years even if it was showing up late but we did stick by the fire until 03:00.

Jamie and Mary, great to see you and thanks for the great eats.

If I wind up going to Siberia I won’t see you next year.

Clark, thanks for the beers and thanks for your continued efforts keeping this bit of fun alive.

And everyone get Newfoundland on their ride lists.

Sitting on the ferry waiting to sail, only 900 kilometres to go tomorrow.:D

Yeah...sorry to miss you, Mike. Hopefully Newfoundland is going to happen again soon.

Glad you did make it, though.

I rode by Dildo on my way home. Just so you all know how far away it is I got home at 17:00 yesterday. 900 km’s in the cold made for a long day but a hot shower and a fire outside with a cocktail and a cigar made it all good.:D

Thanks Clark, again, for a great camp out! I returned Tumu’s projector yesterday and have been doing a bunch more riding.

I delivered Hazmans bikes to his garage and a spare recliner we had so he’s more comfortable in his recovery. He’s got a lot of healing to do but has great support from his family and friends. See you all next year and hopefully sooner!

It was very cool. I got to take a cruise up on Ken’s TW. Now I definitely have to get a small bike. I could have made it up the access road on the Super T but it was SO easy on the TW. My skid plate saved the Super ten. I had to bash it back into shape but it is well built and survived. I also carefully pounded out the dented Touratech pannier and it looks like it will survive and still be water tight.
