Lets go ahead and bump this up- two years later :)
Im kicking around the idea of doing a lap of kansas ride.. honestly not sure if its worth the bother. I'm located in Wichita, if any of you fella want to meet up and do some riding.
Check out this RR http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/tour-of-kansas-on-dirt.977714/
All and all it was fun, just going to take more time than what you probably are thinking.
Hey thanks for the link to your RR! I just read through it.. you're right- thats more miles than i had figured :) What were the most memorable areas? It seems like you enjoyed the KS/OK border stretch ?
I'm in for a Flint hills section
yes the best part I guess would be the flint hills sections, but in the same token, the west side has a charm that we typically do not check out very often because of the distances to get there... but the NW corner was pretty neat too. google arikaree breaks for some pictures. I kind of love the immensity of the west, and the never ending plains with nobody around...
I've been wanting to go and see the badlands area down south too, was hoping to tag along with someone
yes, castle rocks, following the smoky hills river, Russel Springs, Scott Lake etc. it is pretty neat scenery IMO. Even Mount sounflower has its own charm... Also Little Jerusalem is or is going to be open to the public pretty soon, that should be a cool place to see too. https://www.nature.org/ourinitiativ...weprotect/little-jerusalem-talking-points.xml
Anyone still have this gpx file they could share?
Yes I do, pm me your email, and i’ll Email it to you!
I will be riding from Reno to Holland, MI end of May and will be putting the TKT.gpx on my maybe list, west to east.
