Is this road the first left after crossing the Trail River / Lake bridge?

    Hey AKTroy,

The trail head for Crown Point Mine is the Left after the Trail Lake/River bridge. The road goes back just over a 1/4 mile, hang to the left when you see the first Y in the road.

I am going to spend some time with Google Earth today.

A friend and I stopped to check out the Crown Creek Mine trail on the way to Seward yesterday.

We turned back at a second mud hole pretty close to the start of the transverse climb, but could have easily bombed it with a dirt bike or KLR650. [My friend pretty much pussed out is what I'm trying to say here.]

Road is not quite ready for a R100GS.

With this weather, a couple more weeks and it should be ready to rock 'n roll.

    Winner, winner chicken dinner.

I expect there will still be snow drifts in the shadows this time of year. maybe even in the more open areas. ya never know, but I hit some in early June a couple years ago

    ?

Went up the trail, solo last sunday, mostly dry crushed rock, made it in 4.7 miles, stopped at the second snow section. Very soft, and melting fast.
More riders needed for second assault this weekend. Pretty sure we can power through the snow with a team effort.
