The rum and cigar tour! If you ship out of Bolivia you could call it the "Che" tour. Or out of Colombia and call it the Traffickers tour.

Agree with what has been said. Cuba is an amazing place. Very safe and un-modern.

Why going through Mexico if Florida is so close?
I believe that a higher number of riders interested on riding along Cuba would be able to participate if the extra time at sea is reduced.

Just an idea (thinking about available vacation time for regular Joe's and spouses).

Sorry, not possible. US officials are much too paranoid...

The PRICE for the trip Mexico to Cuba and back is 1600 US$ for one person with motorcycle.
For motorcycles that weigh more than 240kg and whose size exceeds
the size of a BMW GS1200 there is an additional cost of 200 US$.

Each leg of this trip lasts 3 days. So in total it is 6 days on board the ship.
The price includes all meals and all immigration paperwork.
We guide the motorcyclists through all customs procedures for the temporary import of the bikes in Cuba.
Additional costs: Customs and policia de transito for legalization and cancellation approx: 60usd

These trips are made with a minimum of 10 motorcycles and passengers.

Please check the first post of this Thread for more info...

So, are there preferred routes to Yucatan? Also, how much time is spent on the boat?

Sorry, I don't know about any preferred routes to Yucatan.
Each leg of this trip lasts 3 days. So in total it is 6 days on the ship.
There is also the option to just send your bike with us to Cuba while you fly yourself if you don't like boat rides ;)

I spent two weeks in Cuba last summer. It truly is like stepping back in time 50 years. So much natural beauty, architecture and people. A month to tour by motorcycle would be amazing!

Have you heard much about foreigners on $$$$ motorcycles being hassled or shaken down for "donations" by the police? The average doctor in Cuba makes about $45 per month so a GS is about 37 years salary.

I haven't heard of anyone being hassled by the cuban police for money so far. The only serious encounter with the police I know of was Throttlemeisters when he came to close to Guantanamo;) But that wasn't about money as far as I know...
