Looks like the fins have been machined off the cylinders..
Rex-O.E.C. 1370 J.A.P. two wheel drive. 1935
Seems like the hard way to make a sidehack 2WD...
How does that drive pivot on the steering axis?
Look at the 2nd to last pic to see the pivot and joint......
I remember the Rex from photo’s when I was a boy, fabulous.
Here’s my 39 I used to commute on it run events etc and ride it pretty regularly till I was hit by a truck on it 2 years ago I just about have it road worthy again
Nice bike, glad you could bring it back from a wreck. What really caught my eye is the art deco or whatever style it is called work bench, storage cabinet and I am guessing tool storage.
It’s an alemite service merchandiser this model was only made 45-47 with the lighted windows came out of the local Chevrolet dealer peg board tool stoarage with a garage door and all kinds of storage in both cabinets and under the work bench
Thanks, that cabinet is nice.... My buddy in CA were we lived for many years has two mirrors from the SF Worlds Fair Chrysler Exhibit he rescued from a car dealership that was about to be demolished..... One side is Plymouth, the other one is DeSoto, both are in his living room.
Cool that they are both the orphans.
1903 Moto- Cardan V-twin shaft drive from France .
who's your buddy? I was just scanning their(Cannonball) FaceBook site!!! lists all the riders,I see they are full up for 2018.
Yes they are full. Have been for quite some time. Pat Patterson will be riding the one in the pix.
I looked him up,#55...no bio or photos though, too bad
He's old, cranky, and really not much to look at. We're working on the engine, the frame and tins are being done at his shop, he'll possibly be along here to defend himself, goes by perfpup. He's usually always late.
Heh. I see a friend is running the Cannonball again. In his own words: Being hard of head and limited intelligence, I am again running in the Motorcycle Cannonball.
Darryl Richman #23 riding his '28 R52. I know the engine has been gone into many times since I took this picture in '08
Well naturally I couldn't follow your progress without at least checking out the latest Mecum auctions this month in Vegas.I don't have anything near the money to get a veteran bike for myself and then remain married so I'll just sit on the sidelines and wish you guys the best!
My only contribution could possibly be to ride to Ohio for your planned stop and wish you well should you make it that far.Best of luck and I hope there will be a ride report and pics on your adventure.I will say,when/if you get near Michigan and you get into some shit with the motor and perhaps need a part overnighted and delivered I could PM you my contact info if I can be of service.I do anything to get out of work for a day or so.
