Had the great pleasure of attending the overland expo mountain west. I instantly recognized sunny and had the pleasure of meeting and had a great conversation with Dan.

hope you recover soon Dan and are able to get back to your adventure!

It was nice to meet you and chat as well.

For whatever reason, the pictures of the new trip decal and all related comments were moved to the basement??

whatever. Perhaps I should have taken my friend Ben (web designer) up in his offer to create my own web page/blog. I choose to do it here on ADV as there was so much great content that fueled my fantasies all these years before I left. I felt like I was giving back.

I think too many would have missed your fantastic adventure. This platform is a gateway to see so much through the words and eyes of the traveller. You have given back a lot.

Thanks man. Not a moment passes that my mind and body are working on solutions to getting back on the road.

You can’t be back on the road soon enough. I’m missing your adventures.

The last nine months have been very difficult for me. Between worry that I may not walk again to living away from family, it’s been tough. Working on it though

@Ohio_Danimal - The recent PT reports have been sounding extremely positive from this side of the screen. :)

PS. In case you didn't see the comment on FB, put me down for a sticker, BTW.
Oh, and my wife just completed the BRC, and is bike shopping... OMG... LOL!

Congratulations to your wife. I suggest taking her up to Azuza to look at the stuff from CSC Motorcycles.

    Congrats to her!
I’ll for sure remark when I’m ready to take orders and ship etc.

Olaf, the German rider I travelled with, sent some ride footage chasing Sunny down Ruta 40. So I made a short video.
    Enjoy and such lol

I’ve almost certainly mentioned that I use a walker on foot. Things are getting worse and I’m questioning as the leaves fly if my days with a larger, highway capable motorcycle are over after 43 years riding all over the continent.

I really miss my Grom. Less than half the weight. I buzzed around the city like a Boss. I have the winter to assess my balance and mobility on foot. I have no trouble riding. It’s at a stop and moving the Roadster around on foot that’s downright dangerous. We shall see what spring brings but I may be saying goodbye to my last large road bike. The Piaggio MP3 also has my attention - a trike that leans but doesn’t fall over at a stop or parking.

The Yamaha Niken also looks to fill such a need for some of us.

Not in Canada since 2019. I’m thinking Vespa 300 or the Paggio. Something lighter that may be suitable for the highway. That’s where the Grom falls short.

The issue is I am long distance rider anymore? The city offers a world of adventure with back alley murals, coffee patios and festivals. The Grom delivered that in spades. It’s a tough one.

Oops. Looks like 2019 was the last Niken year here, too.
I fully understand on the Grom limitations. It's a real shame that CSC isn't making the little Mustang replica. The 150 version achieved freeway speed, and the 250 (230cc) EASILY exceeded freeway speed limits, in any state.

A 300 Grom would be a dream now.

Edit: I’ve been offered an incredible deal on a Vespa 300, a Scooter I’ve long craved as well... and, it’s highway capable. What they’re offering on the Roadster is hard to ignore.

Something with low seat height and a sidecar?

Except that the Niken will fall over. And from what I've read has a limited turning radius.

I had the good fortune to ride with Dan once or twice. He let me try his 250 Chinese ADV bike.
Good man. Going to dive into this report.

My iPhone 7 that served me so well my entire three year journey is starting to have lack-of-memory issues.
Looking back at things to delete, I saw almost a hundred high-definition panorama pictures I took all over South America (and a few in Mexico).
So I created a new YT video showing them off.
Kinda lengthy at 7 min, but looks great on a big-screen high definition display.

    Hope you enjoy!

I admire your determination and sense of purpose.
You strike me as the kind of rider who would have his buddies hoist him up onto the seat, duct tape his hands to the handlebars, and leave them coughing from the roostertail of dust!
If your travels ever bring you near west central New Mexico, the pie in Pie Town is on me.
