Excellent post Dan, thanks. Seeing new places is great but it’s the people you meet along the way that really make traveling memorable. That’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot this past year.

Great Post, hope you are healing physically, & that Medicaid comes thru. Just thinking of the enormous ups & downs of your trip. You are wise to focus (as much as possible) on the positive parts of your travel.

All those experiances, all those friends! You are a wealthy man...

    Hang in there Brother...

A brief photographic tribute to some of the tires I have loved and lost along the way in Cycle South (so far!)

Sure. I’m not a light person, and was carrying the equivalent of a small passenger as luggage.
So I kept pressures fairly high, near max. Say 36 rear 32 front. Even off-road.
I’d get around 6500-8000 each on rear (ate three). Never paid attention to front total miles. Replace when needed. I’d bet 15000 easy for the GPS front

Thanks Dan, and thanks for the knife gift recommendation. I ran a Tractionator Adventure last summer on our 2 up loaded rides (long slabs to the trails) and it is about 1/2 worn @ 2,000+ miles. I upgraded to a wider rim this winter and will try a 130/80 GPS-

EDIT- Did you go with stock width rim and a 120/90?

The Takasago Excel rim is wider than stock a bit yes. And yes, I prefer the 130 width

Yes, Medicaid was confirmed and will be active soon. Then a PT will be acquired.
There were other tires as well. There’s a limit of 25 pics per upload.

It makes you get up and get out of the house, too. That always helps ones outlook on life after being immobile for awhile.

May 2021 be good to you Dan and hope the recovery goes faster than you expect. Each day that passes will bring more healing and strength to your leg. The physiotherapy should turbocharge that recovery rate.
