You need to be examined by a Neurologist, and he has to ask for a electromiography of the foot drop leg, that can help to adress the damage to the nerve (s) and see if something more can be done to help recovery, or give it just time and PT.

Good luck and I´ve enjoyed your set of not shown before pics

I’ll certainly mention that to my doctor.
And thanks for posting. Here’s some more from the northern Chile and into Argentina and Patagonia

Keep fighting. Better to have the Doc paint a darker picture and fight through with PT than to be painted a rosy picture and be disappointed. More adventures on Sunny await.

Worst case, a rigid pair of MX boots will keep that foot where it needs to be.

Always enjoy your photos and narrative, Dan. You have been some amazing places and seen wonderful things, as well as meeting a ton of great people. Shit happens, but it isn’t over for you by a long shot and I plan to hang around to see what’s next for as long as you are willing to share. DoG, I hope I don’t sound like a stalker! :linzi :-)

Yes. It’s the main government HQ, all boarded up. The entrances (not visible) had multiple federales with M16s guarding

I think I’ll keep the narrative going Geezer. Why not. It’s really always just been me being transparent about my life. I’m thrilled that the motorcycle content and pictures and videos help it feel more real. Like you’re with me.
Pics are from my Brit buddy Sam Lang. I had a nice video chat tonight with Sam, Mystery and Sergio, part of the gang I travelled with off and on for a six month period. Also a pic of my latest medicine from the nearby dispensary.

I rarely share my FB content here, but a year ago I made friends with Liliana and her husband while staying in a Hostal in Bariloche.

She wrote the following to us after we departed (“us” being at the time myself, Olaf Weidemeyer, the rider from Germany on his Africa Twin, Kurt Carleson, an American from Georgia on his KLR and Sergio Camacho from Colombia on his Honda XRE300.)
Tonight I had a long video chat with Sergio. It was great to hear from him. He’s still waiting for the borders to reopen so he can get his bike stored in Buenas Aires and ride it back to his home in Colombia (he has dual-citizenship and is currently in Florida). The talk put me right back into that place and time. We both reminisced about missing life on the road.
Anyways, here’s Liliana’s post from a year ago:

I celebrate myself, and sing myself,
And what I assume you shall assume,
For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.
I loaf and invite my soul,
I lean and loafe at my ease observing a spear of summer grass....

The hostels have a particular charm, there one finds landscapes that reflect multitudes of looks, smiles and tears. Perhaps because each look contains thousands of other looks, I met you Daniel Byers, Kurt, Olaf, and the wonderful Sergio, all making their way while walking, as a poet says, but I, already in Buenos Aires, far from Mendoza , thief of stories, always ready to love such wonderful souls as yours, today I feel a little richer, because I have looked you directly in the eye.
Your stories allow me to continue with you, tell other four knights, who do not hesitate to fight against windmills, if they get in the way of achieving dreams,
Thanks Daniel Byers, Sergio Camacho, Kurt, Olaf, the one with the long temples.
Do not forget that we continue with you, his eyes, his eyes are also mine.
Thank you for being in El Otro Mundo, a big hug

I'm a little concerned about your drug use.

For example, rolling a spliff with good bud is such a waste of good bud; some sort, any sort, of bowl-based device is vastly more cost effective and energy efficient. Actually, my son in law has a lil vaporizer that would turn that single doobie into about a week's worth of medicine. It's the 21st century fer f---sake.

Do keep the narrative going. The painful price of adventure is certainly a central part of the adventure that needs to be told to fully, accurately, explain the story, and interspersed with all those pics of the funner parts of that adventure it creates an compelling dialectic, in my brain, at least, about tradeoffs between risk and reward.

That doobie would toast me for a week, especially given the potency of today’s bud. I’m thinking Dan has built up a bit of tolerance over the years. :bubba

How nice to have a friend who can wax poetic, especially one who does it so well. Kind of Longfellow-ish. Triple like.

    Wonderful. Thank you.
I remember seeing the wing, and thinking, "Is that carved stone?" Amazing craftmanship, and stone makes it even more amazing.

    Here’s some cool news.
I’ve been a longtime fan of the musician Azam Ali. She was born in Iran and has an unbelievable voice and writes beautiful melodic music. Years ago my friend Frank, who owns a bicycle shop in Shaker Heights Ohio, turned me on to her music, listening to her for hours after the shop was closed, doing repairs and building new bikes for the floor. Frank and his wife even traveled to Toronto to see her live and got to go backstage and meet her.
So fast forward to a year or so ago. After a particularly beautiful day riding high in the Andes in Peru, I posted some pics in my FB page and said that I had been listening to a Spotify playlist of her music all day, and how much it added to the experience. Shortly thereafter her and I became online friends.
Today she gave me permission to use her music for the background of a video I have planned from ride footage and still shots from that day.
Part of the title credits will say “music by permission of Azam Ali”.
    How cool is that??
BTW, if you haven’t heard of her you should check her out. Plenty in YouTube. Here’s one of my favorites, a traditional Indian song, with over 20 famous Indian musicians helping in the background.

    And something more mellow
