That’s some funny shit right there.
Made me laugh. Thanks
So back to Lula Cafe for more outstanding coffee y un sandwich de pollo. Then over to Zocolo to hang out. Maybe visit the art museum.
Last night I had a fantastic time at a Oaxaca Guerrero’s home baseball game.
Everything I heard about Mexican Professional Baseball was true.
The fans know the game
The fans are loud
The music is loud
The play is decent. Some great players mixed into it.
The games take a long time (fine w/me)
The Guerrero’s are in first place a few games ahead of Puebla who they played.
The game started at 7. Ended after midnight!
Both starting pitchers were Gringos. Neither were that good (last night...and their ERA’s say that’s normal)
Oaxaca mounted a rally and a double off the left center wall in the bottom of the ninth brought in the winning run 6-5. The place erupted!!
Added to the mix was a swarm of huge beetles that hatched after recent heavy rains. Boy! In the US baseball fans and players bitch about midges and other small insects. Here, the freaking insect can alter the flight of the ball! And they hurt when they hit you. And they grab into your clothes. They were everywhere. It was bizarre. But exciting for this Gringo! I really had a good time. And you should have seen the look in the Oaxaca starter’s face when he was falling behind and I belted our “c’mon Rogers! Get right at him. He’s all over the plate. Put it under his hands!”
It was like he’d never heard English yelled at him during a game. The response I got from him brought applause from the locals surrounding me.
What a night!
Tonight’s the last night I can stay in the Airbnb place I’m renting, as it’s booked solid for the next two weeks. So...tomorrow I move four minutes away to another place for two more nights. Then it’s off to San Jose del Pacifico and to see my friends again at Hostal Mandela y Evelyn, where I stayed a week last year. Looking forward to that!
Pic quality and subject matter are superb !! Oaxaca is my favorite Mexican city....Ruinas of Monte Alban,a fantastic Zocalo, magnificent arts and crafts, indigenous people and Mezcal capital of the World...
Tyr the Mezcal ice cream....thoroughly enjoying this RR....stay safe Dan,watch carefully what you eat and be sure and have a tether attached to your top box...
And yes, several Rokstraps act as tethers. I’ll never forget that one!
Sorry I haven't been on in a few days, think I'm all caught up now. F'n dirt bike!!!!
For sure she’s the right tool for the job.
Ol’ Blue (my trusty SV650 I sold with 237,000 miles on her) would NOT have made it through some of the shit I’ve been on.
Most, but not all.

Walked through the chocolate street. The smells and taste samples would knock you out!
Apparently Goku eats ears of corn smothered in mayonnaise lol
I keep hearing about this Romney place. Need to go check it out sometime
Just a cool retro motel with decent riding in the area. Super nice folks that run it and they have a fire pit out back across the bridge some nights.
