Late, more applicable to previous segment of this ride report:

q.v., "Mystery Science Theater 3000," now playing on an obscure cable TV channel.

Here is another short video from my travels. This time one of my all-time favorite areas, between Caraz and Chacas Peru, high in the Peruvian Andes. I hope you enjoy it!

That was great. I love how you put some of your best pictures within the video. The dance is terrific. Thanks :clap

Video still works well for me still.

I was going to call that the high altitude mushroom dance, but then I thought you wouldn't be mushrooming while riding.

It really wasn’t the plan! I had been doing at that time short “hey hello, look at this awesome scenery” selfie videos and posting them. That time, at one of the highest passes in the Andes, I had been at high altitude for several days and the headaches and fatigue were gone and I was feeling good. I set the camera up to do the video, music still streaming from my phone. At the moment it was Queen’s Greatest Hits on Spotify. When that song started the dance began itself lol. “Take a long ride on a motorbike cause I like it....crazy little thing called love”.
I tried hard to recreate the timing in the video, and to make the clip short enough that YouTube censors didn’t pick up the song and delete the audio. I think it worked out just fine!

I really don’t think I could ride while tripping. Never thought of trying it either.
Haven’t seen mushrooms since San Jose del Pacifico in Oaxaca. I passed on multiple offers to partake in ayahuasca in the Andes.
Just wasn’t in the right frame of mind. And to me, that is critical.
It does look like I’m high though lol. And I was....nearly 15,000 feet!

Some ad and pop-up blockers can do that. If you are running them in your web browser, try disabling and see if that helps..

Thanks guys! I've been slowly working my way through lots of video clips from full memory cards that were stashed away as they filled up. With no real video editing experience under my belt, and filmed using an inexpensive Mobius camera (1080P @30fps, no image stabilization) that I used to mount on my RC airplanes, the results are so-so IMO. I've looked at using image stabilization software, but free packages only allow small file size use, and I'm not going to pay for software at this time.
Here is a new one, from a day's ride out of Huanchaco Peru, high in the Andes. It gives a good idea of the varied terrain there. I added some Dub mix music, as I have a TON of Dub that I listen to when riding. Kind of makes me feel like I'm there when I watch this. This is about 37 minutes of continuous un-edited footage. So, if you have time and don't mind the camera bouncing some (the road WAS very rough at times), enjoy a ride in Peru!

[6/6/20 EDIT-the starting point was NOT Huanchaco, it was Huacrachuco, see below info for the actual route)

The only Huanchaco I can find is on the coast, is there another one?

David-this is weird. Jim McWhirter asked me to confirm the road was 10A on my FB page, so I remembered that on the video I looked at an old sign for an archeological site. So I went to that place on the video and did a screen capture, thinking I could look it up that way (the file name on the memory card was Huanchaco). The sign read Cerro Loreto. And for the life of me I can’t find it! Here is the picture. Can’t find any reference to this site! I’ll try to figure out exactly where I was (I wandered a LOT with no itinerary)

David, I just figured it out, playing the video slow, stopping at signs and marking them as favorites in google maps. The video starts on 12A heading west from Huacrachuco (not Huanchacho). Then onto 3N west back to Chuquicara where I get on 12 west towards the coast. At 20:50 on the video you see the sign for Reserva Nacional Calipuy. At 21:05 on the video you see the sign for the Suchiman archeological site.
That was fun figuring it out!!
