Here are more pics snapped from a ride Luiz took me on but from the Nikon.
It was about 180km with about 75km unpaved. Mostly hard-packed reddish soil with intermittent baby head rocks and such poking through the dirt. Overall great traction. A little tooth-rattling at times if you aren’t in the right line. But fun and makes you want to stand up and kick the rear out a little exiting turns once you see the road’s clear. Also trying to stay in the lane aside from the lane Luiz was leading on, as that big GS grunts and throws pebbles like it’s a fat baby binging on coco puffs. I like riding visor up most times and it had to be down today.
We went over a few bridges and crossed many small streams and rivers. Scenery often was the most Amazon-like yet for me. I saw the blur of a large monkey crossing the road too. That was wild. To be honest, I was trying again to make a Relive video, and the app crashed multiple times and I lost a lot of pictures. No matter.
We stopped at a very small seaside village with about a half dozen waterfront restaurants with decks etc. We stopped, had a few beers and shared a large seafood assortment platter. All caught right there. It really was incredible. The stuffed crab. OMG. Anyways, as he does (and many Brazilians do) he says “OK now it’s time for my nap”. I was like ok, we headed back to nap? And he tells me his uncle owns the small house next to where the bikes are parked. He napped. I napped laying next to the water.
Then more dirt. To SC416 to BR101 basically then South to Joinville again.
Looking at that beautiful spread with a few beers...I'd need a nap as well!
Thanks for sharing, Dan.
Those are such great pictures. You really look content!
I quit fighting it. Thanks man
Sorry to hear about Left of Center, I joined it based on your recommendation to me. They are as you said a fun site .... as long as you're playing their game but their left of center is a bit to the right of we. No more commenting in respect to your keeping the politics minimized here. Nice pics again.
The folks at LOC weren’t the ones who banned me. It was the Facebook Overlords. I’m sure the folks in that group loved my statement.
And yeah. They do try to stay a bit centered, which isn’t always a bad thing, especially with such decisive rhetoric running rampant these days.
Cookie, Binho’s mom
a few from the Nikon
That was great! The camera crew did a wonderful job. Nice music too.
Wow! What a beautiful area!
Dan, no offense intended, but you are looking a lot younger. Just sayin'
Keep it up.
Looks like a great day out. Love your comment about the GS grunting like a fat baby with choco balls!
Love those blue skies.
Dang, how many miles on the DR?? A million?
A touch over 50,000 miles now.
I’m getting messages asking for an update. Well, I don’t have one really. Ramiro Colsani at B&M Logistics let me know that one of the documents I submitted (that had already been notarized) was insufficient according to his Customs contact (bottom of document on copy was cut off). It was my Ohio Registration for Sunny. So...got the original and had another copy made and had it notarized (obrigado Luiz Carlos Honorio).
Now I wait for someone to get back to me.
I literally have no idea what to do next, and the 24th is coming right up. I’m trying to not be a pain in the ass. Waiting. Hoping.
