It´s a shame that it happened, but a new chapter has opened, Best wishes for an uneventful recovery
BMW “City” pants.
If you're going to be laid up in Alpine you might as well order a steak and a Manhattan from Reata. The protein from the steak is for your leg and the Manhattan will help take the edge off.
It's by far the best restaurant among there, Marfa, and Terlingua.
Get Well Soon
So I was able to get Dan’s email/PayPal info if anyone is interested in sending some helping $$$$
Please! Only use this to send money via PayPal, and only message him through ADV!

It’ll show as a PayPal receipt to Daniel Byers
Help a brother however you can!
Gotta give you credit Dan. When you go about getting fucked up you really don't fool around. Hope you get healed up quick.
Whaaaaat! Consider this a get well card. Wife says you took nice selfies.
Been there, done that. I consider any injury outside the torso or head not serious, but I'm sympathetic to the pain and aggravation you will go through. Sorry this happened to you, but you are fortunate to have so many in this community to jump in and help. I'm too far away or I'd be there too.
Wishing you a full and speedy recovery Dan.
Sorry to read about this latest turn of events. Get well soon.
Damn! You definitely put the adventure in ADVrider. I would be eating some sort of pork product at every meal just to get even.
Unbelievable bad luck.
Amazing that you have travelled Mexico, Central America and South America among the cartel, kidnappers, extortionist, crooked police and Montezuma’s revenge and nothing happened. And now this in Texas!!
Wishing you a quick and painless recovery and I don’t mean any of that stuff, just trying to keep the people that are scared of Mexico, scared!
Dans just chilling , has his meds, So now i can take notes on a 1 on 1 setting & learning a ton of stuff for my own adventure across the border. bummer i am learning this way.
Amazing stories & very Inspiring .
Hang in there Dan, and good luck with the recovery. Looks like the orthopod comes into the center on a periodic basis.
It looks like there are three veteranary clinics in town, and I'm sure they deal with livestock.
I would bet dollars to doughnuts that at least one of them could do the structural work.
Wishing you all the best on Friday and a rapid recovery. Motorcycles and wildlife is always a challenge but wild pigs would be new to me I suspect a bear would be similar and no more friendly
Dan, so sorry to hear about the accident. Do you think your leg broke when the hogs hit you, or when you fell over? A friend of mine broke his leg near Coors in Golden, when a deer ran out and landed in his lap, but he actually broke it when he hit the ground and the bike fell on him. No matter. We hung in during your quarantine, and I imagine, most of us will hang in during your recovery from this. Keep your head up. One day at a time will get it done. Thanks to SuprBeeADV for stepping up and hanging out with you. Y'all let us know the best way to help.
LOL, they can treat danimals, can they?
The pain meds have me kinda loopy sorry. It was the impact from the charging animal that snapped it
Damn Dan! Thats a kick in the knackers and a strange twist in fate. probably best it happened stateside for proper medical care.
Heal fast and well, and Godspeed!
I had such strange dreams last night. Maybe it’s the meds. Maybe some still motion flashbacks from the incident. But I swear I recall seeing the lead pig that hit me lowering its head for impact. I think they were charging at me. Both of them died. One was struggling laying there and the game and fish cop put it down. I remember being startled at the pistols report.
