Don't pout, don't sulk, don't go away. Do think, read and avoid the attempts at mindless cute banter. Before you'll be an just like us. And watched your video...... Stay in your lane:huh
So, I will add in my $0.03 (inflation), I was up there in the summer of 2010, right after they reopened the road after the mud slides that summer. On my KLR, with 80/20 tires, I think I slowed down to 30-40mph for some of the freshly grated sections. I left Tok 2 hrs before the border closed, and I still had time to buy a couple of t-shirts in Chicken. So I guess it all depends on the bike, some skill, and rider mental instability, which is a nice way of saying many of these answers need a bit more information. If I was on my old '99 ZX9r or worse '01 TL1000S (190 rear), I would have had to schedule 2 days for the trip from Tok to Dawson, and I still might not have made it Boy, I want to go back up there!
Only rode the Taylor / TOW once when I thought it was dangerous; 2010 west. Both Annie and I nearly went down, visibility sucked, deep mud and the road washed out behind us. Still, 3 of 4 Goldwings that were behind us made it; one went down hard. That is HackyMoto and MotoMamma's boy in front of us on the ferry. Passed us riding a mile or so on one wheel in a successful attempt to make me feel old and slow.
I will fully submit, I did not see rain on the road. Here is what I got to see Now, with my words, you know if I make it up there this summer, I will see rain ......
No worries man! You are just excited and that's great. I was excited the first year I went to D2D. Just lurk and all your questions will be answered between now and then. Huddy- I remember '10. It was pretty interesting and I was glad I had taken the KLR since it had knobbies. The ape had anakees and those suck in the mud. This past year the TOW was great both times I ran to Dawson. I do agree with Ulir as the pavement on the Canadian side was quite interesting.
Hey nuttynu, how about you read my ride report on taking a sportbikes across the TOW? And through some of the construction zones.....and campgrounds....are you planning on using some of those newfangled semi- knobbies type tires on the Bike? Or full on sport touring tires? Please visit trip planning as well. And equipment. I was a noob as well,( aren't we all at some point?) and the folks here were and are fantastic!,!! I am very pleased to call many of them friend......
Might just be using michy roads 3 tires. I done lots of touring on the bike and also half of the dalton. And just wanted to get an idea of TOW. But guess ill find out myself when I actually ride it. Guess I shouldn't let ya spoil it.
Well, good for you for riding up the dalton, you're a better man than me. You shouldn't have any problem on the TOW. Just a suggestion, you may want to stay off the painted lines in the wet,. Ah,the impetuousness of youth......remember what that felt like Kevin.?........Jack?.........Annie?.........bob?......
"Well, good for you for riding up the dalton, you're a better man than me. " Shnizzle.. I don't think anyone has ever called you a MAN. You got the Hyabusa and all the other stuff over the TOW and you weigh what? a buck and a quarter US.. Maybe.. We will see who shows.

Alright so looks like I will be able to attend d2d. I got June 17th till the 23rd. So I have changed some plans. And decided to start a bit earlier. I'll be taking off the 17th , hit the Canada border east of Tok, then ride to Whitehorse. And then up the Klondike hwy to Dawson on the 19th. And return back via TOW,to tok and back the glen To anch. TAAAda . Anyone in AK/Canada near those route that would like to join along ??
I think Kevin Huddy wants to do that ride right about then. He's always looking for company. If I can remember it I'll get you his home number.
