I am happy to return to D2D after a hiatus of 4 years? At least I'm going on 14 years in a row of "Trek over the Top" snowmachine annual run to Dawson. So little time and so much to do. Will go this year on my BMW F800 GS and see old acqaintences and friends. D2D is always a great place to be.

Looks like I may be cruising out that way on Sunday, June 19. Will folks still be around? Does anyone have room for a solo rider, DR650 and a tent that night?

OK let's see who is leaving for D2D when. I PLAN to leave the valley around 10 ish in the morning on Wednesday the 15. Probably from the Palmer Carrs parking lot. I'd be willing to ride in a smaller group of say 3-6 others if possible.

I'll be coming from anchorage. I had planned on staying the night around Tok but this is my first time in this run so I'm open to suggestions. If you're not embarrassed to ride with a cruiser, I'll ride with you

Tok is where most of the riders coming from southcentral headed to D2D stay Wednesday night. Thompson's Eagle Claw to be specific. It is a motorcycle only campground run by a wonderful lady named Vanessa. What type of cruiser are you riding? Do you have any dirt/gravel riding experience?
OK I just saw you have a VStar, it's doable, weather, and riding skill permitting,. I also saw that your are AF Avionics (pointy head :) ) I'm a retired weapons troop, so...........

Every stinkin year, two or three bail out at the last minute...and thats if it's not raining/snowing in Chicken! You can always find a room if you keep calling or go to the hotels when you get there. Bring a tent but hope for the best.

We'll likely see you on the road somewhere between Palmer and Tok. Watch for a white Versys with a blue WR, and a third, undetermined bike. Is Tim going to meet up with you in Tok?

That's affirmative. Tim will hopefully be arriving at a decent hour this year, as he took Wednesday off this time.

Well THAT stinks, hope she is OK. Are you still bunking at the "Guest Cabin" in Tok? Where are ya gonna stay in Dawson now? The 5th Ave B&B MIGHT have a room....The price is right AND free delish breakfast.

We had some people bail on us for the D2D trip. I just canceled 3 rooms at Young's Motel for the night of the 15th and 5 rooms for Saturday the 18th.

Is most everything paid for in US dollars or should a guy bring some Canadian $$$?

Given the current exchange rate that wouldn't be a bad idea. But from what I've seen all of the D2D related costs are collected in USD.

Does plastic work or is it a wad of cash gold dust and beaver pelts?
