I'm thinking of riding 3 from Coalhurst to the AB 940 and heading north into Banff. It looks twisty Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I finally got onto some gravel today - smiling from ear to ear for over 100 kilometres - left the 3 at Coleman and rode the 940 (40) Forest Trunk Road. Saw an elk, about 8 deer and loads of prairie dogs Camping in Canmore tonight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The temps are cool in the am/pm. I'm sleeping wearing my down jacket. I would say that I am wearing all my t shirts but I only brought 2 . Lol. Had some good sporting fun on 31A. Took the kootenay bay ferry and was speaking to a fella who was going to toad rock campground. I thought I would check it out. I rolled in.....and rolled out. Not really my bag, I think. The crusty biker dude said that there was some sort of shindig going on there this weekend, with a big draw,to win a bike, I think, a dinner and ALL THE BEER YOU CAN DRINK!!!! He seemed fairly excited about the third prize...lol. There seemed to be a lot of black leather and studs in camp so...I moved on. I'm in kaslo now and I think I want to retire here. A cool funky town. I'm having my tea looking at the snow capped mountains and kootenay bay. It's so nice and I'm so tired from only five days( oy, how I have aged since my last ride up!!) I may just park myself here today. Had a couple long days, 1000 kilometres day one and 1100 kilometres day....whatever...I didn't ever realize yesterday was Friday.
That guys bike took about 15 to 20 kicks to get it started to roll off the ferry. there were wires and a down low hand shifter, and some other spinning thing that he said you had to be careful when riding. Gadzooks! I hope he wins the new bike this weekend.
It was hovering in the mid and low 20's all day; down to 3 degrees last night. Great weather for riding and for sleeping Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hahaha - you meet all the cool people. I almost met an elk. But that's another story. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Alas - I won't make D2D this year; though will probably pass most of you on the roads anyway - as I still plan to be in Alaska in July sometime. Enjoy, everyone - keep the rubber side down! : )
We reconnected in Lake Louise on Saturday and camped in Lake Louise campground. The setting is idyllic but you definitely need to be cautious Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
