Bad news: I damaged my bike in BC and I am going to spending some time
    mending it.

Gonna miss the event it looks like.

I am going to be in Anchorage around the 20th.

I heard it was between Stewart's Crossing and Dawson. I did not know about the RV . The frost heaves are not all marked and can easily get you out of control. There is a construction zone with a pilot vehicle.

That is the accident that I was talking about, it was closer to Johnson Crossing, past Jake's corner.

The one detail I will share here is that it was a high side accident in that construction gravel. This accident occurred in a mix surface Road and resulted in a tremendous amount of trauma.

    Stay safe

Former Alaska DA dies in motorcycle crash in Canada, says Yukon coroner
Former state district attorney Michael Gray died in a motorcycle crash in Canada's Yukon territory while he was heading to a family gathering in Montana.

The crash happened near Kilometer 1,320 of the Alaska Highway on Sunday shortly after 11 a.m., according to Yukon chief coroner Heather Jones.

Gray, 64, departed Fairbanks early Saturday, Jones said. He was driving in a construction zone south of Jake's Corner, near the U.S.-Canada border, "when he lost control of his motorcycle in the gravel on the shoulder of the highway," Jones said.

Further details about the crash will become available after an official inquiry by the Yukon Coroners Service and the Teslin Royal Canadian Mounted Police, a process that could take months, Jones said.

Gray retired from his position as Bethel's district attorney last month, said Fairbanks District Attorney Greggory Olson.

Gray began his career in 1983 as a legal aid attorney serving low-income people in rural southern Virginia, according to the Alaska Department of Law. He earned his law degree in 1981 from The Marshall-Wythe School of Law at The College of William and Mary. He became managing partner of a Virginia law firm but left in 1994 to follow his dream of living in Alaska.

He landed in Kodiak and began working as a prosecutor there in 1995. He rose up to become district attorney there in 1998. Ten years later, he took the top job in Fairbanks, where he remained until 2015.

Olson called Gray a friend and a mentor who was well liked and respected among colleagues.

"Everyone in the office is shocked and saddened," Olson said. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, daughters and family."

I've got a loose counter shaft sprocket. If anyone in dawson has a 27mm socket, please get ahold of me in the morning. 978-4675

Needs to be a socket, a wrench doesn't have clearance to turn as I found out in Chicken when I couldn't get the wrench I brought to work.

    Thanks!

I'm hoping to get it handled before the poker run, so that will probably be too late. I have a 3/8" drive with me.

Details are correct but the accident was a little before 10 am. Mike was filling up his BMW beside me at the petro can south of Whitehorse just after 8:30 am. I point this out to enforce that police and ambulance take some time to arrive. Also the accident occurred in a no cell service area and I sent the third fellow on scene ahead to call emergency services. Mike had full gear of course including a modular Shoie helmet.

    RIP

If not too late, grab me 27mm or 1-1/6". Nothing in the hardware store here. If it is too late, no worries I'll get it figured.

I will bring it with me to the JJJ and have it in the Pterodactyl van. Ask any Pterdactyl for it...

I just rode that section earlier today. There is a shrine (flowers and a cross) at the accident site. Very sad. The actual road is compacted and hard and easy to ride on, the shoulder is very very loose dirt and gravel.

My condoleances to the riders family.

    Be careful out there folks.
