This is officialy a unofficial ride
It is so unofficial that it isn't even listed on the Combined Run Schedule
so do I unofficially show up? Beemers only or can my Vstrom drink from the same water?
Hell ya you can show up. Ain't one of them parade rides where you've gotta have a plan neither. Put it on your calendar and plan on meeting as many dual sport looking riders on your way as you can... we'll all be going the same direction and at different paces.
Best ride there is and you don't need a particular kind of bike or a special pass, etc. A couple years back the coolest looking bike IMO had a shitload of tape on it. Not sure if it was structural or not but it looked like it was important. The 'strom will be perfect.
Oh no more Valley trash!:eek1
Yer damn right you can just unofficially show up. That is what this gathering is all about. Were you able to find the dates/description?
Riders will be gathering in Tok, AK on Wednesday night (June 14) Spread out between Golden Bear Motel or Fast Eddies Motel, miscellaneous campgrounds. Thursday we roll into Beautiful Downtown Chicken, some head into Eagle as a side trip, end up in Dawson City Thursday night (June 15)
Friday is a kickback day with an optional poker run departing around noonish from the Downtown Dawson Hotel. Friday night banquet held at 6/7:00 ish. Midnight posting and official "Gruver" annual meeting. New "Gruver" nominations/seconds/discussions/votes/ and possible induction(s). Saturday morning bail collection and depart. Postings and pictures at midnight.
Nothing to it. I am asking that if you thinking about joining us, you let us know here on this forum. That way we have an idea of how much food to prepare. There is no charge for the D2D'06 but the optional banquet has been running about $25.00 Cdn.
We don't care what you ride. However expect to hear a sales pitch when you show up on an '83 Virago.
Hope to see you there. Fite

TR, if this nice couple can make it...you can make it on the Uly.
[mind you, it will be waaaaayyyyyyyy more fun on the Uly]
They are lovely!!
Thanks, Fugawi you've given me all the confidence I need.
Big J.... check out Dualin' Dalton thread.
Alright kiddies... it's that time of year again.
Time to start hitting up businesses that might provide D2D'06 entrants free stuff. As veterans may remember, we draw names at the Friday night banquet and give away some pretty neat bling. Most of us have business contacts who could use a bit of exposure so please start now in your solicitations.
Just about anything works well for a giveaway door prize. Free dinners, discount certificates, caps, shirts, gloves....the sky is the limit.
Certificates and discount cards pack well and are a real treat for travelers, so are free meals. Use your imagination. I will approach the major MC dealers here in town. Valley riders need to cover Hartleys and Wasilla Yamaha and ???. I am asking that you deliver any items that are to big for you to pack on your bike to....... FastLane (Dave) at Hilti Fasteners on International Airport Road in Anchorage. We will get them to Dawson. I am also looking for anyone who might be driving a chase rig to D2D'06.
Carry on. Fite
Juz talked 2 my guy at Hartley's...I know they will cough up and hopefully since I am Vstrom guy and I can get Team CC to spew some goodies....
Most excellent.... that's why you're number 41 on my list.
