To the people who have never seen the movie, don't replay to this thread by posting IN. We will not contact you and it just fills up the thread with useless post. I am kicking off the official torrent thread for the 2015 Dakar. The flash "no torrent needed" videos worked well last year, so we are doing it again this year. Fight Club Rules You do not talk about torrents. If you don't know what a torrent is or how it works, Google it. You do not talk about where you find said torrents. You do not talk about the distribution of said files. Aka, check my FTP site. You do not post request for files or access. PM the appropriate people. No n00bs. You need to have post to your name and have not signed up yesterday. No whining. That said, this Fight Club does have a page with lots of good information and it's updated often. You need to PM ONE of the below people to get access. <nobody yet="">GoNOW (more to be added soon) </nobody> All the helpers, please PM me if you can help again this year. 1-4-2015: We are a go
does anybody know how to get access, to the content? i already send a PM to GoNOW, but got no answer.
I'm kinda assuming that with viewing the news/videos on the Dakar tablet/phone apps and their website, the need for the downloading and torrenting of the videos has kinda disappeared. But it seems like the videos on the app are a lot shorter than the videos from previous years. Tony
Was there any difference between the videos on the app or website and the ones that's being made available for downloading? The ones on the app are just a few minutes long, less than 5 min or so. Thanks, Tony
We focus on Eurosport coverage. Around 30 minutes long. When we get videos up depends on when our group of volunteers can get to it. Life and work gets in the way. Normally it's same or next day. Flash/HTML5 can take a bit longer as it takes a few hours to transcode the video. Stage 4 is up for torrent, flash/html5 is in the works right now.
The torrents are invaluable to me. So much more info in the 30 min Eurosport coverage than in the 5 min Offical Dakar vids. I also like to archive them for reference material and to get others hooked on watching.
...for which we truly appreciate the effort involved and understand that your lives don't necessarily revolve around getting us Dakar coverage! I have every one going back to 2011 now. Nice little collection.
Join the community. In the relevant forums, post about the bike you've got or the journey you're on, or just the ones you're dreaming about. Ask for some advice, help out an inmate, recommend some routes. Most of us don't bite.
Hey guys, Thanks for the interest again this year! Doing our best to get the good stuff out there. As GoNow mentioned, lives do sometimes delay things. I'm on a family vacation in Disneyland until the 12th, so that is why the late release schedule. Should get stuff posted faster once I'm back home.
Server is down because the power company is doing work in the area tonight. Should be back up tomorrow.
