I saw it yesterday at CES, obviously a prototype with a few fit and finish issues but looks nice. The handlebars going up and down with the rearsets as well is groovy.

I visited with the CMO a bit. He said they are planning on selling for ~$25k, production in ~12 months and they are thinking of a streetfighter version as well.

Apparently they will be built in Vancouver. Whatever happens more choices and more players just works out to good news for us the consumer.

Seems like they have caught the media attention after revzilla run an article on them, but for $25k it's definitely not for the majority, read somewhere they are targeting Tesla crowd. (Rich folks want more electric toy)

    https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/damon-hypersport-unveiled-at-ces

There are also the premium version with brembo brake and ohlin fork, only 25 will be made, price tag - $40k 200108_DamonHypersport4.jpg 200108_DamonHypersport8.jpg

    From MOTO eMAG newsletter:
I’ve seen a lot of what I consider to be hype from electric motorcycle marketing, so I’d really be interested in seeing those hp/speed/range numbers verified.

There’s no question that the bikes are stunning.

Bump, just because I hope it's not vaporware and actually makes it to production and customers.

I see they’re talking about V2H, now, and was wondering if Damon is shipping, yet?

One article said they sold out of their first 25 motorcycles, but didn’t say if those were actual bikes, or pre-orders.

Fantastic looking bike, clever transformable riding position, and priced about right at $25k if specs are true, but, I didn’t recall seeing mention of L3 charging. Also, it appears non-premium components are standard at the 25k price point.

While the numbers look great on screen, I’m fairly skeptical (I’d like to be wrong) about some of the specs:

    1) 21.5kWh battery (same as Enérgica’s) but somehow weighing “under 440 lbs”?

    2) <440lbs? How is Damon magically erasing 150lbs of weight with the same size battery on board? Was it weighed on the moon?

    3) 160kW motor (52kW more than Enérgica) but somehow going to have 200 mi (50mi more than Enérgica) combined range? When Enérgica tested their bikes with 20-30 more kW, they’re CTO found range was reduced by nearly 40%.

    4) 200mph? Even Tesla’s P100D Ludicrous plus isn’t achieving that with 5x the capacity, two freakishly huge motors, and a giant inverter. Nor are Enérgica’s stripped down race prepped moto e Ego’s getting close to that speed.

    5) 200hp? Ok, but usable for how long.. 40 miles of range? I mean possible but not maybe not the best choice for street use. Suppose it makes it to production, I imaging a mode similar to Tesla’s ludicrous plus, selectable only for short durations, drag strip, etc. but Damon would likely require active cooling if they plan to push a motor to levels beyond moto e and that adds weight and cost.. which is why I feel the production model will debut with far less nominal hp as 200hp will be peak at best and unsustainable for long periods and performance levels will sharply decrease when the heat build up.

    6) < 3 seconds.. on a “440lb” bike with 200hp? Enérgica’s do 0-60 in the same < 3 seconds with the same capacity, less power (145hp) weigh more (577-595lbs), have very strong and lightweight motor & battery housings, the swingarm is aluminum, and the fairings are carbon fiber.

The numbers just don’t add up for me. Again, I hope I’m wrong as this is a bike I would love to see succeed, but I feel like they’ve over promised on specs and setting themselves up to under deliver. Really hope the Hypersport isn’t all hype. If it’s the real deal though, color me interested.
