Sit back, relax, and check out some of the wonderful areas I ride here in and around North Carolina.
Hope to get back there this year.
I've done the BRP, the Tail of the Dragon,
and I camped on top of Mt. Mitchell.
I would love to check out more dirt roads
and more of the less travelled areas.
It has been a long cold winter and I can't wait
to get back on the road...or off the road, but
you know what I mean.
Thanks! It sure is a great area. Glad you got to experience it and you're always welcome back.
The weather is finally breaking after our long winter here and I have an awesome trip planned for tomorrow!
if you have a plan about tomorrow we have been waiting nice photo like thats
Thanks for sharing your raport
I will hit you up next time I am heading up to NC. I love that area.
Awesome, will look forward to it.
I have area maps spread all over the house currently (the wife loves it...).
Planning a lot more trips this year.
Thank you for the photos. Great place you have to ride there. Route 221 between Blowing Rock and Linville is one of my favorites.
It's a great road. When I rode it last November it was pretty tore up in spots and I'm kind of worried what this winter has done to it. I'll know in a few weeks as I'm sure I'll be up there soon enough.
Great pictures. One of these days I need to make a trip out there by bike.
Fantastic!!! Thanks for posting !!
It is a beautiful area. To think I couldn't stand living here when I first got married, then I opened my eyes and everything became clearer. Amazing rides at my back step.
Very nice. Now go take some more pix please.
i always heard don't ride with nate
opps it was don't ride with brad by nate

i'm the king of dumb jokes
any who, intresting read if ya get bored
Ps cool pic s & report
Thanks! Btw, I had already been lurking around your ride reports for a while. Great stuff.
cool man thanks
Didn't take much pics b/c I mainly hauled ass trying to avoid the rain all day.
On this side the water flows to the Atlantic. On the other side it flows to the Gulf. Physics man...
(P.S. Yes that's a line of oil down the center of one of the lanes. It seems some of the locals/person decided to dump oil up the mountainside for about 9 miles of this 12 mile road. Guess they are tired of all the motorcycles. Makes me sad.)
NC DOT loves to do things like this. Imagine a sportbike rider hauling butt into this blind corner from the opposite direction and not knowing the road. Pic shows pavement to gravel transition on NC197.
NC197 appears paved on the maps but it has 4 miles of gravel around the steepest elevation part in between Barnardsville to Burnsville.
But don't worry I knowz these roads
There's a nice waterfall back there you can hear in case you don't already have to pee
Decided to check out the waterfall.
Switchbacks that are neatly mowed around and the trees trimmed back so you can see every turn? What have I gotten myself into NC197.
This guy had a South Caroline Moped tag on. If you know geography that's a helluva long ways b/c that's a Blue Ridge Parkway entrance to the left. Guess everyone loves the roads in NC
Headed home and missed all the rain.
