A few days later I texted my friend and said let’s go to the mountains. Up NC80 and to the parkway we went. The leaves were way behind bc of the warm weather. Almost 100 degrees through September.

So what do you do with the most powerful bike KTM makes? Take it to the racetrack of course. Few friends and myself headed to Carolina Motorsports Park. I managed to get a few sessions in for the day but it was cloudy, rained in the morning, and sometime late week I ended up with food poisoning and basically spend most of the time at the track throwing up between sessions. Not a very good experience that time but I’ve had a lot of good trackdays so this I’ll consider an anomaly.

Decided I needed more power so let the mods begin. Rottweiler Stage 3 intake install with fuel dongles, 02 deletes, and SAS removal and block off plates installed.
That stock airbox has to go.

Decided to take it to the dyno about an hour away. Beautiful 70 degree day to ride there. We let the beast open up on the dyno and I’ll say I wish I would’ve wore earplugs bc my gosh this thing is ear drum shattering. I was guessing it to be around 170HP and over 100 ft/lbs with the mods. I know all dynos are different and I plan to have it ran on another. But it produced 167HP and 97 ft/lbs torque. It’s a beast for sure. My main concern was the AFR (air fuel ratios) after all the mods and I’ll say it was almost spot on and even the owner of the shop said it’s basically perfect which made me a lot less worried about it running to rich or lean after all the mods.

That's a great looking bike. I couldn't have handled that much power in my very best of years!
(But it would've been fun tryin'!)

Been a while since I’ve posted. I’ve went for a few rides but definitely not as many as I have in the past thanks to Covid and everything going on.

Went around Lake James one day and stopped at the boat launch access. Always a peaceful area.

Met up with some long time friends. The one friend had just got her new Kawasaki and was loving it. Went up NC80, traveled the BRP, and took some pics of our beautiful mountains in the background.

Was asked to come to Charlotte, NC to help teach some motorcycle skills. I obliged. With a little downtown skyscrapers to add to the setting.

Decided to take The Beast back to CMP (Carolina Motorsports Park) for the unveiling of the newly paved surface. It was a blast.
