Yeah it's pretty damn serious. I have the same disease as RAZR and I went through this same episode about 9 years ago. The pain is the worst I have ever experienced in my life - like being stabbed with a dagger that's on fire. The docs told me I could have died if I had not gotten to the hospital in time.

Fortunately my disease is in remission but there is no cure for Crohn's and it's always lurking in the shadows.

Get better Charles. I'm sorry this happened and put a damper on your weekend. It just sucks.

Cute nurse pics are required. ;)

Ahmen brother, my mommy told me the same thing. Sound like if you know your life could be in jepardy at any moment you should have a plan of escape in hand?ie bring a vehicle and person to rescue you when you leave for a ride?with my Disease I always carry the cure with me and leave when low on ice

Well they say the first thing you have to do for the cure is admit you have a problem. Only eleven steps to go. Hang in there.

Sure hope I never get the same disease you have. :freaky

Phew! I wanted to be supportive, but I was worried about losing one of my drink, ride, drink, ride, drink, drink, ride, drink, drink, drink, drink buddies.

Does this mean we are going to have to designate a run your ass to the nearest hospital driver for each night of these events?

I will add my Brothers Bung Hole DV story.

Here a few years back he was 57, we were coming out for DV Daze but an unexpected event changed our plans and we decided we still were going to go, it would just have to be the following week. The Saturday that we would have been out at possibly the Race Track or somewhere far out and fun, I was actually changing tires on my Brothers bike. As I am mounting the last tire I look over at him and he says ”man I got an UNREAL stomach ache” I want to go home, must have some type of bug? Long story short! My Brothers colon collapsed! Rushed to the local hospital then onto another hospital were he is mis-diagnosed somewhat. Dr. says he will be in and out of surgery in an hour or so. They thought Divroticulitis/losis? Spelling? Six hours later Dr. comes out and tells us he removed 22 inches of his colon and used over 5 liters of saline to flush all the crap out of his stomach cavity. Dr then tells me, I never see patients come in like your Brother has and live. But he will. Dr. then starts asking lifestyle questions about my Brother and then tells me the biggest reason he is going live is due to his unusual for his age health and low blood pressure for his age. He felt my Brothers full time practice of Martial Arts and Yoga stretching habits fooled the residents and even him as my Brother was using controlled breathing techniques to handle the pain prior to surgery. This hospital is a teaching Hospital and the Dr. was head of the ER staff for internal Medicine/Surgery (Lucky Brother). He said this was one of the worst cases, yet best teaching experiences for his residents. His life today is still as active but he has had to make adjustments for the colon shrinkage when it comes to how he eats and when he eats. Here is the Kicker! Dr, says a simple colonoscopy would have seen this and a little blue pill if caught early would have solved a life threatening event. I should have pointed out my Brother never had any stomach pain or bowel movement issues prior to this. So in conclusion this is some serious SHIT! Get a Colonoscopy! I did!

ps: The recovery process after someone (make that couple Dr’s) has had their hands inside you washing with saline all the crap of your inards is the easy part. Now imagine you are all sewn up and moving about with your new to you bag of poo catcher on your side with its charcoal canister to control the fumes. The not so fun part is now you have none of the Slippery/Slimey stuff that allows your inards to casually move, slide and squish about. Now they cling to one another and every time you move, somewhere they start to become un-stuck and you feel what seems like a knife is doing the separating in your gut!

Hmmm.... Viagra has other uses ! :lol3

Seriously, a friend of mine is a surgeon that does this work. He says it is the most intense pain you can imagine. :cry

Hope you get to feeling better Charles. Sorry we weren't still there to drive you into town.

Does riding motorcycles have anything to do with intestinal damage ?
