    Looks like gpsxchange.com has been down for a while (and I didn't know Jerry wasn't in here anymore).

    Did anyone happen to download the entire collection of his Death Valley tracks that they can share with me either by posting here or sending them by email?

    .gdb files are Garmin's native format used in Basecamp and Mapsource. The files store numbers in binary as opposed to text, so the files are much smaller. But that is not a big deal these days.

    You could use Basecamp or Mapsource to convert the gdb file to gpx. There are probably other apps like maybe GPSVisualizer or GPSBabel that would also do the conversion.
