If you are Headed thru Punta Cabres going south.........there are two concrete pillars on the right as you go down the hill.

Go thru those pillar on the drive and stop at the first house on the right, (has a nice pull thru drive).

Say Hi to Larry (geezer like me), and introduce yourselves. He's always happy to meet folks.

He could put you all up for the night. Hes a great asset to know down there..........horseshoe pits, pool room and Bar....etc.

I stayed there at last years Baja 500..................

...it's bad on the Coast, but if you trek inland some-should be stellar...with all the rain-it's amazing to see all the Wild Flowers through Valldares/Pozo San Telmo...my guy in Ensenada tells me it's thick at dusk through dawn-been like that for two days...burns off some during the day.

...with the rain we've been having-that area around Tres Hermanos can be a bit overgrown and rutted-out, too...I hope they hit the coast soon-losing daylight-but what a great sunset they'll have if they're not socked-in with that killer Marine Layer that lines that area of Santo Tomas...I'll probably see them somewhere along the trail tomorrow...

That update was at 3:24 pm. I rode that section during the last Baja 1000. It was challenging rough then, and that was before the most recent rains. From where they are is about 3000 ft of down mtn terrain. Lots of ruts

It's at least an hour to Hwy 1.........or longer. Getting to the Pacific tonight is questionable.

I can't wait for the real story and photos to come out. :freaky

I got a report from Erendira a little before 2PM. They are having some great weather to play on the beach. I'm envious.

I got home OK around noon today.
If you read Dirtdiver's Test Ride on the same route in Dec.
There are some ugly ruts pictures on the route from
    Tres Hermanos to Uruapan.
They are right, it is uglier when you see the real thing.
When I saw the "Ugly" my brain freeze up, picked up a wrong
line and bike went into rut and threw me over the handle bar.
Landed on my left shoulder and saw the stars.
Two more drops within another ten minutes and all hit the same
    shoulder over again.
Trailtrick was an angel he help me pick up the "pig" each times and ride it out ( I was falling in love with this guy)
It getting dark, Trailtrick saw my condition and found a spot so Joel and I
can camp out overnight (that explained the 15 miles to Hwy 1 "spot" report)
The rest of the group have gone to Santo Thomas gas station.

Trailtrick rode to Santo Thomas and retreated the group and bring them
back to the mountain to camp last night.
It was very windy last night and the pain was giving me a difficult time laying down on my back. In the morning John rode my bike down couple hundred yards to pass the "ugly". Nice Man Joel send me off with his magic candy - double "O" 6 and I am heading home!
The double "O" 6 kick-in after 30 minutes and I was in heaven, I took advantage of it and haul-ass home without a single stop.
Everyone was having the time of their life it was a great ride!
I am sad that I had to leave early but I don't think my left shoulder could stand another hit.
Thank you for everyone that help me out, especially Trailtrick who waited at every tricky spots to take pictures and help out the less skilled rider like myself.
Thank Joel for the magic candy ( he have the candys in a bottle with many colors and I am sure he save the double "0" 7 for himself):rofl

Eggroll. To bad about the get off's but I am glad you made home in one piece. What bike did you take with you? Did you ride all the way back or did you truck your bike to the border? Has anyone else had mishaps? Ben
