Or enough to dig a 6" trench the length of the campground in Boon. Dam LC8's, they make you ride like an A-hole.

One of our riding buddies bought it from Jonah Street, it was his Dakar bike. It was later sold to another friend of ours who took it to europe with him.

I remember that pic. Wasn't there a mishap involving a taco-d front wheel later that day?

    Helooooooooooo Detroit!

Checking in here -- I spent he first 18 years of my life here, left for a few, came back! I've managed to pry some time away from work for my old hobby, getting bit by mosquitoes while cursing at motorcycles in the dark. You'll see me zipping around on a battered old VFR800 with a surplus of zip ties, and trying to find parts for the new project: two 1970's CT90's that need a resto.

These pictures look suspiciously non-Michigan. I think I'm going to like you guys.

Anyone here know where I can get a tank cleaned and de-rusted?

Welcome back. WTF were you thinking? I have a transmission from a 72 CT110 in the garage. Might be the same as yours. One of my dad's projects. The bike was sold years ago. If you can use it, it's yours.
About who will clean old rusty tanks, I don't know, but I've done a few myself. Paying someone could get expensive. Depends how bad it is. Start by removing and emptying the tank. Toss in a hand full of zip screws and shake it violently. empty and repeat until all the big chunks are gone and you're down to fine dust. Then use an electro-plating process. I've done it and it worked well. Patience and repeating the process several times by refreshing the solution and anode is the key. I believe you can reverse the process and copper plate the inside of the tank, but mine wasn't bad enough to go that far.
Here's a couple how to's. Quite a bit more info out there if you search.

Congrats on the clean DR-Z Marco. You may want to keep those rear pegs on her just in case some pumpkin decides to stop spinning somewhere between 2nd & 3rd gear up in the U.P.

I am prone to making poor and romantic decisions when it comes to things on two wheels…

Hopefully they will resurrect into good scoots for my nieces.

That’s an exciting notion electroplating! My brother in law’s dad run a playing shop. That could work out really well!
