Thanks! Temp rising is normal, but not to the point that it boils and pukes out coolant when I stop.

New Rad Cap then. Unfortunately it's a PITA to do as the tank has to come off.

    Hi C,

I leave in 2 days for Ak, via Ok, Moab, Seattle, Icefields, Hyder and D2D. I will be detouring to Seattle from Moab, but will rejoin Tewster2 and 68Vette in Stewart around 6/12. Vstom, Africa Twin, and a DR650. I expect to get to Bath Me sometime in July. Do you have a schedule and route?
Best of luck and Take care,

    Ben.

No worries seat is coming off any way to wire up a powerlet and a heated jacket wiring harness... not much more to take the tank.off. New Heed crash bars are en route from Poland too.

    Thanks all.

Resurrecting a very dead thread with a stupid question. I've had my 03 955i for 7 or 8 years now and absolutely love it. I do find on the freeway I am revving the hell out of 5th gear. I love the gear box of 90% of the riding I do but I frequently find myself pulling for a 6th gear. Does anyone know how similar the gear box is on a 04, 05, 06? I think they all had 6th gear. I'm assuming it would be impossible to swap but would be interested I getting in there for a winter project to make a perfect bike....

The Tiger955i of all years has a six speed gearbox (I had an '02) so I don't know what you're on about. I suspect you can't count. Or you could do what most people do and fit a 19T front sprocket which stop you hunting for a 7th gear.

Secondly...uuuh...what blacktiger said. The 955s all have a six speed gearbox. I had an 05.I have no idea how you haven't found a sixth gear in 7 years of ownership...

Either a troll or maybe he never tried to upshift past 5th gear. Wouldn't that be embarrassing?
My BRG '05 Girlie spent entirely too much time in 6th when on the road, can't believe I never got caught doubling/tripling speed limits.

Thanks guys! Honestly was looking around for gear ratios, saw an article that listed the 03 as a 5-speed, then another listing the 06 as six speed, then got entirely too much in my own head and decided to trust that haha. Glad I can be of amusement at least. Just sick of pulling for another gear whenever I'm on a freeway with it.

Yep, another troll who's probably never even ridden a Tiger but talks about his bike doing this or that. Probably not old enough to have a driver's license. Gotta love the internet, not.
