    Hi there,

I'm planning to ship my 790 ADV R with air freight from Germany to NZ.

Does anyone have experience which dimensions the cargo box needs to have?

I think it could be a good idea to unmount the front wheel and the mirrors to lower the height of the box. To my knowledge most operators of air freight calculate the costs based on the volume of the cargo box. So the smaller the "cheaper".
I plan to go more than a month so I guess shipping is cheaper than renting downunder.

    Thanks for your help!

Find a dealer that has one in the crate and ask them to run out with a measuring tape for you. But a good dealer should be able to closely ballpark it for you regardless. Mine always has.

Moto Freight told me 226 cm. max length for standard crate.

Also, make sure it is steam cleaned prior to packing, using only treated wood. NZ is very strict when it comes to temporary imports. More info on the HUBB.
