This man is my hero. He just turned 80 years old and he's preparing for even more dirt bike adventures with a new bike, new gear and a new van to dirt ride around north America.

Have Japanese motorbikes lost their mojo?

During the 1970s Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki dominated the market with great bikes that were actually reliable and well priced too. But nowadays they largely seem content to rest on their laurels and let the Europeans eat into their market share. Why?

Keen to see middle aged dirt muppets attempting to ride technical terrain? Watch this vid.
All others are advised to steer clear unless you are an insomniac begging for some shut eye.

Greg is 72 years old and this is his first time on a dirt bike. Should old guys be riding dirt bikes at all?

Over the years I've been doing Beta known issues vids, here is an update on the main 2020 problems. Sadly the main bearing failures have continued into the 2020 RR250 and RR300 models, but there are suggestions it may have finally been fixed during the 2020 production run. Time will tell.

Oh and we finally get to ride a Beta RR200 and do a quick review!

It is a real privilege to ride in Canada, Romania, Cambodia and Vietnam. But it's also great to get back home and ride with my favorite bunch of idiots on our home tracks.

This video does feature nakedly bad riding, but the two ladies below do NOT appear naked.

A year ago, we asked if the quality of the well known Sidi Crossfire boots was slipping. Widely regarded as the second best boot you could buy after Gaernes, in recent years there appears to be a decrease in quality.

One of our local riders had the bottom of his six month old Crossfire 3 boots and the retailer, Sidi sales rep, and Australian distributor won't replace it under warranty.

At least in the USA you guys are getting much better after sales support when something does go wrong.

Good news, another vid where I shall be the semi-mute dirt muppet and not say too much.

We are back in dirt riding velociraptor territory so keeping the revs and noise down to avoid alerting these sneaky little predators. And there are tips on using pivots turns to get up hills.

I'm sure you know, northern Italy has a lot of Chinese manufacturing plants so the end product can say "made in Italy". There's even talk that the covid virus that struck Italy so hard was brought directly to them by the Chinese workers. Like you said, not an automatic chant for 'crap' but leads you to wonder...

It mainly seems to be happening in the textile industry. As far as I can see the boot manufacturing appears to be employing experienced long-term local workers.

These are the misadventures of the dirt muppets. Our five-year mission: to explore gnarly tracks. To mate with new lifeforms. To timidly go where enduro muppets normally don't bother going.

    Time for another random video.
Why does KTM persist with their WP forks?
Anyone remember Dick Lasher's close call with that volcanic eruption?
And a dirt riding snake handler.

The digital Graham Jarvis makes a brief appearance in this vid. In his quest to become a middle aged hard enduro star, Ben has created more tricky sections to practice on.

They don't look hard, but he's cut the track to deliberately make things awkward...

We are incredibly lucky. Normally it's impossible to ride in rainforests like this.

But we now have access to yet another private property and we are helping the owner to cut some single tracks. Tough job, but someone has to do it.

I took the Xtrainer to a trials event and tried to ride some of the sections. Hard work but piles of fun!

The much longer supporters version shows the Xtrainer battling through every section in the competition.

Finally another training vid! This spine fracture has meant no riding for seven months, so no more training vids for a while.

How to get your dirt bike down near vertical drop offs, descents or downhills.
