Be careful. Get her a scooter and before you know you will be infected too
Well, I do have a partially assembled '66 CT-200 (Trail 90) with a Lifan 140 in it.
Not quite the same, but pretty close!
Sheree had to go out of town today with a friend of hers, so I went for a ride with my daughter.
No pics on the ride for 2 reasons:
1) I'm not set up to take pics while moving
2) I was following my daughter riding her R6, and I'm not posting pictures of her backside!
Sheree did see some picture worthy places on her trip that we will be following up on!
I also got some of the parts ordered for the clutch repair today. They didn't have everything in stock, so I'll get the rest ordered tomorrow from another place.
Hang in there! We'll be back on the Sporty soon!
(Gloriana needs a top end gasket replacement. She's leaking water and oil, and running a bit hot, so I need to check/replace the head gaskets. Not top priority right now. She's the back-up bike.)
Great thread DRC. You do realize that the pic limit per post went up to nine quite awhile ago now?....
No, I didn't.
<-- Now I feel like a dumbass!
Thanks for letting me know!
I'm glad you're enjoying the thread. We're trying to do better as we go along.
I got part of my clutch stuff today. This was just ordered yesterday. Fast shipping!
That's right, no more brass rivets!
I got the heavy duty spring plate with the stainless rivets!
And, we got a couple of shots while we were riding earlier today.
We made memories alright. We almost dropped the bike cutting through on the sidewalk to get to this box!
Then, we got a shot of another box.
And that grassy hill is steeper than it looks!
We almost dropped it again!
Yes, Make Lasting Memories was the theme for us today!
(We'll remember the near drops for quite a while. We are laughing about it though.)
Going for another ride.
Well, I'm back.
We just took a quick trip out to get a few more pictures since I've been slackin' lately!
Here's the University Baptist Church.
There are a few of the geodesic dome churches around here. Kinda dates them!
This one is much newer.
The Woods Baptist Church.
In 2014, Sheree hit a deer less than 100 feet from this church's parking lot.
No worry, I got the truck fixed back up after that.
6 months later, a woman sped through a red light and wiped out the first 12" of the truck.
I fixed that too.
Anyway, here's a bridge pic.
Sheree got a shot of me riding away from the bridge.
(Yeah, I could use a haircut! )
Here's a cool gazebo that was at one of the churches.
And here's Sheree at the gazebo.
Since it was on church grounds, I got a Cross shot.
And we saw a pirate ship!
And that about does it for the newly found 9 pic limit, and also for tonight's ride.
See ya next time!
Do ya like trucks? Sheree called me from her job this morning and told me about this.
(Sorry, having problems uploading.)
It took me a few tries to get the pics to show full size.
And, I got a photo of the Unitarian Fellowship for the Places of Worship thread.
Yesterday I mentioned that Sheree hit a deer near that Woods Baptist Church in April of 2014.
Here's the before and after. (After I repaired it that is!)
Then, 6 months later, the next accident.
I got the truck fixed, but it still needs some work. I need to get a new bumper and some other parts.
The wreck was bad. It even broke the water pump off the engine.
No after pics yet, but it's still driven daily.
While I was looking for those pictures, I found some old pictures that I took of a Rat Rod Truck.
Sorry the quality is bad. I took them with my old Pantech flip phone.
The day my daughter was here waiting, she took a pic of Libby waiting for us to get home.
Libby could hear the Sporty from a long way off!
Waiting at the front window for us to ride by!
My cat is like that. When I ride into the driveway my wife often does not hear the bike but she knows I'm home because my cat goes straight to the door and sits there until I come in.
One of mine does the same thing, I’ve always said he’s a dog in cats clothing.
My son had a kitten that would play fetch with me. He loved to chase Beanie Babies, and bring them back. When the cat grew up, it stopped playing, and I got a puppy instead.
The first ride was a solo PTSD battle ride, but I didn't forget y'all!
I found out where the Tyler Fire Department does their training.
And I had to cross the tracks on the way back.
No train this way.
Nothing this way either.
Then I came across a historical building. It must be, the graffiti says so!
And the place next to it was abandoned so long, it just disappeared!
That was about it for the earlier ride, other than confronting the demons!
We'll see what happens later.
Ok, where was I?
Oh yeah, riding, come home, sit on my butt and do a ride report.
Then go back out riding, come home again, sit on my butt again and do another ride report . . .
I see a trend developing.
Oh well, it could be worse; I could be working!
This evening, we found a place for old geezers!
And another abandoned block.
A house with graffiti art.
On the other side too!
Then, there was a hollowed-out abandoned building.
Nothing says go away better than concertina wire!
There was also more boxes with mural art.
There I go riding on the sidewalks again!
No sidewalk this time, just grass.
And I hit the 9 picture limit?
I'll be back!
Now for more pictures.
We saw this mural downtown. I don't know how many times we went right by there and didn't see it!
Here's a place that's so abandoned, only the awnings are left!
And I saw this old advertising painted on the back of a building downtown.
Looks like 60's style graphics.
Sheree was looking out for oncoming trains.
Meanwhile, I was noticing what a waste this building is.
City of Tyler Solid Waste!
For a trashy building, it sure is decorative!
Sheree liked this angle, even with the glare.
But our night was coming to a close, and I wanted to get this one shot.
I like the way the evening sun hits the copper roof to give it a 2 tone look.
After that, we headed back home for the night. Besides, we had to get the pictures uploaded for everyone!
Till next time y'all!
Sheree reminded me of a shot I forgot to post.
The Old Geezers Restoration shop, and the abandoned building beside it.
Tyler seems to have a lot of old Quonset hut buildings still around.
Some are in use, others abandoned.
Plus, I have a better shot of the old abandoned mechanic's garage with the red doors.
Ok. That's it for now!
