I've heard of it, and have read some of the stories from the sailors that have competed. My boat might be a bit on the big side at 22' and close to 3,500 lbs.

Yeah, that may be a little big.. draft is the big enemy.. apparently the water on that route (aside from the Intracoastal waterway) is pretty thin. I have a 15' Precision that I had visions of doing the race in but it never came to be.

We went out for a little ride this evening, and came across this old barn.

    barn 1.jpg

I was moving the bike to get this shot . . .

    barn 2.jpg

And the :ace :jerko kickstand folded as I was leaning the bike! :baldy

The only broken part is where it landed on the clutch.

    clutch.jpg

    The pieces.

    pieces.jpg

So now I have to replace the clutch perch bracket mount thing. :dirtdog

Oh well, it's less than $20, and it could have been worse.

I can still ride the bike safely, but I still want another one as soon as I can get it.

    That's it for tonight.

    Till next time y'all!

Man, that stinks! I like that you're looking at the bright side on cost.. and seriously.. it happened when you were using the bike.. it's a whole lot worse if it just falls over in the garage, it's covered with dust and you think.. I really need to ride that thing (I know people this has happened to).

Yeah, I was a bit concerned at first, thinking that it was broken at the pivot pin, but the pin and mirror are still secure.
It's just a matter of getting another one and bolting it all back together again.

If Sheree was on the bike during the tip-over, was she like? [IMG]

    Bad news.

Libby (my dog) died today. She was 13 years old. :(

We just buried her by my other dog.

I'm really shook up about it right now. :2cry

Maybe I'll find some pictures of her, or both of them together, and post them later.

    Sorry about your loss... :(

Sometimes we forget that they are pups and we treat them as family rather than the former...

Our pup is going on 13 at the end of the year... All I can do at this point is spend as much time with him as possible...

    Sorry again...

Sorry to hear that DRC. After many years and many dogs we stopped getting pups when an old one passed. Too hard on the emotions now. Got two cats now and one is 16. Not looking forward to losing him either.

Thanks for all the condolences everyone. It helps to know that there's other folks that understand.

After Sheree got off work today, we decided to take a little ride.

    voted.jpg

Yeah, not much, but it was a ride.

Tonight, we went out and bought some flowers for Libby.

    Myshalla & Libby.jpg

    She always liked red.

Now, Libby and Myshalla are together again. :2cry

    Till next time y'all.

    I mentioned a while back that I had a Trail 90 with a Lifan 140 engine.
Well, I found some pics of the mock-up assembly from a few years ago.

I might have to get back to this project sometime soon. :evil
