LOOKING TO BUILD A DIRTFIGHTER AND WANTING IDEAS
THROW WHAT YOU GOT AT ME
HERES MY CURRENT RIDE
If that is your scoot then what is there to wish for?
Like the fatter front tire. Looks very SM.
This is what I have on my wr250x. Gets a lot of looks & at the first break, I hear, now I know why you started w/ the super motor front rim.
The Wez would ride that anywhere!
Awesome adaptive reuse of an FZR 600...
Try to find a picture of DR. Rock's bike, a 900 Ducati IIRC
here, I found it for yah.
tire make, model, and size??????
looking at these as a possibility but not sure if they will fit on the rear rim
recommended size for my bike is 190/50-17
most likely your rear rim is 6" wide.. so no, those 150 are to small for that rim!
I had the same intention for my TL1000 and the closest I find in 190/50-17 with aggressive look was the Dunlop 616
BTW, this is my "dirtfigher"
i found these 180/55 that seem kind of knobbyish but not sure if they would fit
It'll fit, but you'd be lucky to go 500 miles in the dry on a rain tire
Gotta love this R1. This setup inspired the mudders on my FZR.
As for my tires, the weedy little 4" rear rim on my bike means I've got a bit more leeway when it comes to fitiment. I'm running a 5.10-18, but I dunno what's out there in larger sizes. Any chance you could downsize your rear rim a bit?
What bike are you planning to convert, anyway?
BTW, that KLR of yours is a monster. I've been drooling over that thing since I first saw it in one of the pic threads a while back.
believe it or not, a 2000 r1
on the way home with the new project
lets look at it in the daylight n see what we need to do
say bye bye to the plastics
going to put on some normal bars
what can i use these old ones for?
good place to mount light to!
already starting to look like zombie killer
i have a feeling this is going to be fun!
more to come soon!
You could always make your own knobbies if you can't find off roadish tires that fit your wheels.
+1 I use the same tool to cut lugs into the tires on my 950SM. It can make any shape of tread you want. I love it.
Look good....keep on
What tires are you going for? Usual you can find offroadtyre witch are more wide than moto-x. I´m guite sure you can go for 150 on that R1, but if you are going for moto-x you have to downsize the rim as Eldo 500 proposed.
I´ve use on my CBR600 offroadtyre Cheng shin, rear 5,10-17(about 130/100) and in front a reartyre 4,60-17(117/100)
Today I put my moto-x tyres(moto-x because the tires are studded for roaduse and oddroadtyres are not enough)
Chen Shin again. Short Endurstudded 4,60 front(a reartyre) and rallystudded 5,30 rear.
slapped some paint on it and getting ready to rebuild carbs....sat too long
here's a great link to carb rebuild, should anyone be doing the same
